    Accelerated Maths

Op, if you're confident in maths and willing to sacrifice some time and fun this year so next year is less daunting, I suggest you take it up. Usually our school does this with Maths 2U and Bio accelerated in Year 11, allowing them to spend more time on English, sciences and humanities. The only...

    Estimate Plz

Low 90's but i think you really need to improve on Maths. You could get mid 90's if you can get in probably top 5.

Cycling, swimming heck even running are all great recreational activities and shouldn't take up more than an hour or two a week.

Can I still get a band 6 for physics and chemistry?

Yeah keep your rank in the top 5 or 3 to be safe and smash the HSC.

I want to get 98+ but is it achievable?

From your subject selection you seem to be a well-rounded student proficient in both english/arts, maths/science. I'm assuming you will not do any units accelerated thus will have 10/12 units to do in 2017, so time management is gonna be key. From my experience, 3U maths and 3U english need a...

    school rank impact

Usually a top 5 will have a stronger cohort hence it's harder to come top of that than let's say top 30 or top 50 school where competition is a bit more relaxed. I go to ~100 school and usually they tell us to aim for top third of cohort as bottom half will drag us down. I was ranked...

How much do I need in each subject to get 94- 95 +

I had a friend who got 94 ATAR with similar subjects, but had physics instead of business. He only had a band 6 in maths but rest were all pretty high band 5s. Usually top 9~10% of cohort for business/PDH get band 6.

    Good schools in Western Suburbs

I heard Sefton went to shit a few years back with a strict principal and all. I'm not sure about now, but yeah it's good school around the bankstown area academically I guess.

Malek Fahd:Has until April before its funding runs out and students are forced to fin

Re: Malek Fahd:Has until April before its funding runs out and students are forced to Hey, at least we can claim bonus points for trauma/stress :p But seriously, I don't think it's likely. From what we've heard from the new interim board (https://www.facebook.com/groups/4628435851/), things...

    Do I need physics?

Nah fam it's not worth it. You should just keep the required 12 and if you have spare time get a headstart in 2unit and 3unit hsc content, some of which is quite explanatory. HSC Physics has a fair bit of rote learning but all the rote-learning in the world won't help you with application...

    Challenging experiment: Enzyme concentration:

You sure it's enzyme concentration? I did the HSC Bio last year and I can't remember it in syllabus and our teacher went over pracs extensively. Like Queenroot said it's probably similar to substrate concentration. Ours was done with potato catalase and hydrogen peroxide where its easier to...

    Nephron diagram

Man, that's a great diagram. Nephrons Q's aren't common but still you never know. Most important aspect of this topic is formation of urine. You should know where it starts, what happens in the main parts, the 3 processes and like 2 substances taken in/out at each part.

Malek Fahd:Has until April before its funding runs out and students are forced to fin

Re: Malek Fahd:Has until April before its funding runs out and students are forced to I know year 12 hsc students like myself have guarantees that we will be able to complete hsc in this school if it comes to the worst. For time being, there has no been no movement of year 12 students and it...

Let Them Stay: protesters gather around Australia to prevent return of asylum seekers

Re: Let Them Stay: protesters gather around Australia to prevent return of asylum see Also would like to point that Shia's do have a de-facto leader in the form of Ayotollah Komeni. Other than declaring war against ISIS/Daesh and Israel, he seems pretty peaceful.

    Advice on 4 unit maths

It depends. If you're good at memorising legislation, cases, media articles and have amazing teachers who give you all the info for all possible types of essay i would say to keep it. Legal is content-heavy. If not, go for 4u. Especially if your maths minded.

Can we get tested on Preliminary Content in HSC?

Doesn't really happen. Usually teachers go over some of the prerequisite knowledge from year 11 since most students forget, well at least our teacher did.

    Drsoccerball's Free Physics notes

What Uni/Courses if I want to work for Lockheed Martin/Boeing

To be fair, I did post in the engineering sub-forum. Yeah great advice. I've looked into AFDA UNSW and they offer Engineering in Aeronautical, Mechanical and Electric. I'm just unsure about their post-graduate stuff where you have to work for them for minimum 2 years in airforce at least. I...

What Uni/Courses if I want to work for Lockheed Martin/Boeing

Hey guys, I'm wondering what courses and UNIs I should apply for if I want to get into Lockheed Martin/Boeing or any other company that specialises in military defence mainly aircraft especially fighter jets and missile defence. My ATAR estimate is 97+ I'm assuming Aeronautical has to be one...
