    So in a double bond in ethylene, each Carbon atom contributes 2 valence electrons to fill the outer shell of each atom. Now the electrons are paired (this is just rote learnt) and they move around in orbitals around both atoms. At any point in time, the electrons could be near C1 atom, near C2...

    hahaha I still just remember for methyl orange and litmus that red seems like an acidy colour compared to yellow and blue so i go with that

    water management. kill me now. And electron density (not sure about the cloud bit, but i assume its just the same) refers to a high concentration of electrons in the double bond, making it more reactive due to the electrostatic repulsion of the electrons themselves. oh yeh, and learning how to...

    When u get to acidic environment, it gets good. But as soon as water came up i wanted to top myself. worst topic imo.

    learn them and get st8 rank brah

    I actually find that one of the most interesting parts, the syllabus doesn't go into any depth at all on the actual catalyst, but the titanium catalysts and how they work are quite amazing.

    lol how hard are you going on chem? does it come naturally to you?

    and spiral, im doing industrial and astro

    Astro all fits together nicely in a clump. You just learn a couple of idioms and then it all falls into place. In my opinion it is one of the least rote learnt topics.

    Ummm. Well polymers and properties is intuitive, it all fits together quite nicely in relation to the structure and chemical bonding. Need for alternate sources u can just BS, but yeh most others are rote lol.

    I don't find physics too rote learnt compared to chem stuff like generators, space and astro can be quite intuitive. I to I is quite rote though

    Options for the HSC

    just beg and plead. Get your parents on the case, have a meeting with the principal, do whatever it takes.

    Advice for dropping physics or chemistry

    this is not true. IMO physics is more difficult conceptually, and chemistry just has more to learn while being less conceptual. Yes you will definitely be able to keep up if you put the work in. If I were you I would keep both subjects until at least the half yearlies and see how you are...

    don't most rate it as the easist to date?

    What raw mark do I need to get 90?

    77% ---> 81/105 probably 96 aligned mark

    Cohort Performance

    you can drop a subject whenever you want to up to the day before an exam. And tell him not to sleep in the exam, as that could make him exempt from receiving an HSC, you have to at least attempt some of the paper, and not just the MC, you have to attempt some written questions.
