    Holiday Progress

Ugh I know how that feels, French school is actually pretty brutal haha

    Procrastination subjects

Definitely French. Legal Studies if I want to feel like I'm doing something serious and productive but I'm in reality just mindlessly regurgitating notes.

Girls & Guys: how much do you weigh?

17YO female, 174 cm, 63 kg. Heaviest I've ever been...the dreaded slowing of the metabolism may be underway for me!

    Study Buddy Program!

Happy to share notes with someone who isn't at my school (my year group = competitive and sneaky). PM from anyone with mostly humanities subjects would be appreciated!

    Tips for year 10??

Have fun, but for god's sake do your maths homework because that's the only homework that's truly important (mentally punches my Year 10 self in the face)

    Holiday Progress

Voted 'Meh' too because the majority of my studying has been exclusively for Legal Studies (idk why, it's not even my favourite subject) and watching movies in French and feeling like it's studying. I have no English creative stories written apart from a recycled one from Year 11. Oh well...

Why have you had a detention?

My sister's whole year did that for muck-up, and they did every toilet in the school. Chaos ensued

Why have you had a detention?

Oh yes I also got a detention for pulling a prank on a girl at camp in Year 10 (admittedly it was pretty cruel)

Why have you had a detention?

In Year 9 I managed to skip a LOT of classes (rebellious stage yes), my school had a bad role-taking system and I basically got away with skipping class after class after class. In Year 10, I was called to the office when they finally checked the attendance system and realised I had skipped...

    Your Motivators

To get back at teachers who treated me like a dumb bitch when I was younger + get into my desired course (+ beat all my brothers and sisters haha)

Is English the hardest language to learn?

English is relatively easy compared to other languages. Yes of course learners will find some difficulty with it, but it's like that for EVERY language. The only real problem is some of its inconsistency in grammar (exceptions etc.) and probably listening to native speakers (I'm going to = I'm...

    "Smart kid", bad grades

Intelligence is of no use if you don't apply it in a way that benefits you.

    Stressing out, please help!

Try as hard as possible to give up the leave-it-to-last-minute habit from now on...even if it's just for the HSC. If I can do it, anyone can.

    Year 10 vs Year 11

Depends on how serious you are with your studies. If you want to do well in Year 11, you'll find that you'll step up your game a lot. If you just want to simply pass tests, the only real difference is that exam blocks are longer. This is from my personal experience, I spent half of Year 11...

    Should I do French extension?!

See how you do in Year 11 Continuers and decide whether you'll pick up an extra unit at the start of Year 12. Continuers is quite a step up from Year 9/10, bear in mind.

How much study should I (realistically) do while overseas?

You need to take into account the sheer fatigue that comes with language immersion. Don't feel too bad if you don't consistently reach 1-2 hours of study a day. From my exchange experience, French school is EXHAUSTING - went from bloody 8:10am to 5:20pm all day erry day except for those glorious...

URGENT: How many themes are required in a comparative study to get full marks?

Did the exam today, concluded that anyone who explores 3 themes in 40 minutes has superhuman strength in their hands. Still, I think I went okay, considering the fact most people didn't finish.
