I always thought that the band 6 minimum was set based on the test itself - irrespective of how the state performed, meaning if everyone fit into the band 6 criteria, everyone would get a band 6. I could be wrong though.
Even though the Hsc marks --> Scaled marks is generally down, it really depends on how much it scales down. For example, say you have 10 units, 90 hsc mark in each subject. If each subject scales down to 80 (just an example), your overall ATAR would've been ~94.5 last year.
It shows you need to do well in standard to get decent scaled marks. I'm still unsure if it's the aligning or the candidature that plays the bigger role (the standard cohort wont be that strong). Guess I'll find out this year.
I drew the experiment and made reference to the boat analogy, using two constants I labelled the average speeds. Perpendicular to the aether I labelled as c-w, and parallel I labelled as c-z, where z>w.
Ah, thanks. Yeah, I know it's broad but I want to start working with them early, was completely stumped once I got to Q6 in the CSSA paper (only can get like 4/15).
Hey, would anyone have a list (or rough idea) of the proofs that can be asked in Q6? Particularly those that seem to reappear in the HSC, don't want to do what I did in the CSSA paper in the HSC itself. Even if there's a general method that most of them follow to prove.
Thanks
