Not necessarily, but some things in 4-unit can be used to make 3-unit more efficient.

Alignment refers to the process in which the raw exam marks are converted into HSC marks. Scaling refers to where you stand in the subject against the rest of the state.

The people who thought it was easy probably did 4-unit. The people who just did 2-unit and 3-unit would've found it hard - exhibit A and B. FML.

Should've done past papers. I didn't know how to tackle like half of them. Solved about 90% of Question 11, 50% of Question 12, 25% of Question 13 and like 10% of Question 14. Multiple choice was probably an 8/10. Shit, now I don't have a safety net.

That's not the right attitude. However, a 48 raw mark in Physics should align to mid-70's. EDIT: I assumed you meant align and not scale. If you meant scale then 48 would most probably scale to <30.

I should've as well. Faking useless. I picked it because I wanted to do 4-unit, but my teacher didn't want to teach it, and I was convinced that I had to do a shit ton of work, so I backed out. EDIT: Maybe it'll be a partial safety net since I'm doing 11 units...

My right brain is starting to kick in, crap. I still have Extension Math and Physics.

That's weird because it was explained to us clearly that it was for scanning purposes. Wait, you're doing the 2015 HSC, right?
