    2. Yep you're right it could just be heating 3. What would you say instead? 4. Esterification can be exothermic or endothermic, yet for the HSC you can say endothermic for the purpose that it increases the yield. See here: http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=30164

    Comprehension.

Target your weaknesses - is it including a suitable amount of examples? Analysing their effect? Also always make sure you start with a statement about belonging generally in all your answers (unless it tells you otherwise) BEFORE you analyse. i.e Text A elicits the idea that belonging to place...

Dissolved oxygen (DO) is the amount of oxygen dissolved in a given sample of water. Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) is the amount of oxygen required for anaerobic bacteria within a sample of water to decompose the organic matter present. Refluxing involves boiling the alkanoic acid and alkanol and then condensing the gas produced. This allows esterification to be carried out at higher temperatures, which increases the rate of reaction and the yield as esterification is an endothermic reaction (heat is a reactant, hence applying...

Buffers are weak acids and their conjugate bases and hence can counteract any changes in pH. One buffer that is involved in the blood is haemoglobin, which is amphiprotic. In this case, it acts as a weak base; let Hb = haemoglobin: Hb (aq) + H3O+ (aq) --> [reversible] HHb+ (aq) + H2O (l)...

Is anyone else feeling burnt out/unmotivated?

Just keep on going! That's all you can do - only a week left and do as much as you can! Like my sister always says - think of this week as extra i.e in addition to the 3 weeks. Think about it - what could maximise your marks? Just keep going, have regular breaks, diversify your study because we...
