How many pages did you write for each section?

I had 1, 2, 2; I've never used masses of booklets in exams and it's never really affected my mark in a negative way before; so stress less :)
  2. ArguablyMitch

Did the first exam feel a little surreal to anyone?

Yep, this; and I don't think my mindset will change much. Just another bunch of exams, putting in the best I can and hoping for good results.

General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

Section one was difficult, but not too bad. The visual stimulus was rubbish though. As for the creative, I was going to pretty much make it up on the spot anyway, regardless of the stimulus/question. The essay question I wasn't prepared for at all, however I was able to adapt my knowledge of As...

    Who else is shitting bricks?

Still not too stressed, just frustrated because I want to get it over with. Whoever made the final decision to timetable the exam for 1:50pm is a massive idiot.

    Related texts

    Because they're core texts.

    Overall English Structure

    Prescriptions document says "2009-2014"

What are hoping to get for english raw?

90/105 was my trial mark, though as some others said about their trials, I am a bit concerned that the marking was too lenient. So, I'm aiming for 80/105 at the least.

    Introducing related text

You should demonstrate a knowledge of context but try and avoid re-telling the plot; apply it to the question.

    Tomorrow: It begins...

    This information makes me happy!

    Another Paper 1 Question.

Definitely comprehension first. I go in the order of 1, 3, 2, simply because my essay writing is far stronger than my creative (which I'm horrible at).

    Plans for Wednesday Afternoon

So gald I don't do Maths. From Wednesday I have a break of over a week until Modern History and Eng. Ext.1. Stoked that I've got plenty of study time.

    Aos predictions

    +A million haha
  13. ArguablyMitch

    Aos predictions

Wouldn't consider them as broad as "global" though. Well I guess it is HSC English; I shouldn't have to keep reminding myself that it's bullshit. :P
  14. ArguablyMitch

    Aos predictions

I doubt it; communities in general, yes, but "global" communities would cause problems for the set texts e.g. As You Like It is very much community based, but only within a small-ish circle. I don't see how it could be applied to "global" communities? Edit: I obviously wasn't thinking in terms...

    At least 1

I'd be devastated if they changed things up a bit and the essay was out of 50 this year
  16. ArguablyMitch

    Hand writing

Faster and less legible. The markers are used to reading some crazy shit; unless your writing is absolutely shocking it shouldn't be a problem. It's more important to get more down on the page than to be neat.
  17. ArguablyMitch

What is you ATAR AIM and School rank?

    * 90+ (although around 87 would suffice) * Early 300s...

    Who else is shitting bricks?

This. Plus I'm screwed for Harwood (Mod.B)
