How hard is Engineering compared to HSC

It's hard to have a social life as good as someone who does, say, Arts or Commerce. But you can still have a social life. First year uni isn't TOO hard imo (this is obviously subjective), but after first year it really does pick up no matter how hard/easy you found first year.

The 2015 CRICKET World Cup Thread

... Well damn. Oh well, 7 consecutive wins is still decent. Now time for Australia to pull out their best performance to have a chance against a super in form NZ!

Do your parents pay your fees?

    Yeah it's still a thing

Do your parents pay your fees?

Fair enough, my point was just that it's not as one sided as he makes it out to be. Although I'm sure from a statistical point of view, there is in fact a number that would be useful (sample size).

    question about quizes

She was obviously going to make an attempt before deadline lol, it seems as though she just wanted to know how many attempts she was allowed to make.

The 2015 CRICKET World Cup Thread

Saw that as well, I think it was referring to only World Cup games? That's what I assumed anyway. Lol pls, if Mahmudullah didn't fire then Bangladesh were going to lose. Can't go around blaming umpires for a poor performance by an important player.

    Where'd the $20 come from?

    Which maths is harder

I didn't do math1902, but I did math1002 and math1901, and I certainly found math1901 to be easier (yes, easier than 1002!) just because calculus is basically second nature to me while 1002/1902 introduced very different topics. So perhaps for OP it depends on what she's been exposed more to...

Religious people studying Science, Please explain

Are we really discussing this in a thread where the opening post has this? Seems like the start of a very one-sided argument.

    Law Camp

Pretty sure the whole point of the camp is for you to make friends during the camp, so don't worry that you don't know anyone (yet ;) )

Uni - how long do you study per day

I doubt they'd ask for you to have D or higher in every single subject that you've done, that would be very rare.

    what does UnAustralian mean exactly?

He got banned?! Hahaha what a tool

What's up with Western restaurants chains serving me halal meat??

That's so hypocritical, telling person A off for thinking he's morally superior to person B because of his religion, then going on to imply that you're morally superior to both A AND B because of their religion. Nice going.

Brickies earn up to $6000 a week? WTF are we doing at uni?

He didn't put it well, but he's right (assuming he's not just talking about tradie jobs). Education here is good, but job prospects aren't that great. That being said, it's gonna be harder for an Australian to find a job in the US than finding a job in Australia.
