HELP - USYD Law or Macquarie law with scholarship

If that's the case, best of luck buddy and hope you get into arts/law at usyd :) Feel free to pm me (or anyone else on this thread) if you have any other questions.

    Drugs to stay up

Crobat got it right, I'm definitely not srs. I don't want to and don't need any drugs to get through university studies and work. Since I've linked it to some mates on FB, couple has told me they used these or alternatives. I wasn't aware how common they were.

HELP - USYD Law or Macquarie law with scholarship

I think you need to first confirm your chances for the scholarship. If it wasn't close to 99% - I wouldn't put Macquarie down as first preference. I assume you have no specific preference towards MQ and the scholarship is the only thing impacting the decision between USYD and MQ. Here, I don't...

    Drugs to stay up

    What is uni commerce like?

Commerce is far too broad to string any meaningful common experiences that different disciplines or majors will bring (coursework wise). I can speak for Finance (and Accounting - did junior units). Reports are very important and will be what you produce when you start working in the field...

    Share your ATAR here

Almost half the cohort (I think) are transfers with the rest being 99.7+ kids. They are simply shrinking transfers (because a kid on 99.5 ATAR is probably substantially smarter and hard working than someone with a 77ish WAM in first year commerce or arts). Note that usyd law ATAR is not...

    New years resolutions

    didn't get into 180?

    New years resolutions

A particular 'society' pops up - will not name, but basically involves going to India for volunteering purposes to 'teach' kids etc - many of their programs are implemented in an unsustainable fashion. For example, in a remote village where sometimes electricity is scarce, why in the world would...

    New years resolutions

Good goals mate. I think the development programs clash but its possible to do deloitte and pwc in the same year. Crobat, for uts Dean's list, is law and business separate-would there be two potential Dean's list (shieeee) or 1?

    New years resolutions

Only academic/work related stuff :) : 1. Go on exchange to London School of Economics in June/July (and go around Europe with mates) 2. Master Excel 3. Don't go out as often as sem 2, 2014 and get back scholarship 4. Get either an IB internship in third year or another big 4 consulting...

Best university for Bachelor of Commerce/Business?

A true 'started from the bottom, now we here'. Would purchase book.

Best university for Bachelor of Commerce/Business?

Lone usyd rep!! (Can't control my bias because its been so good to me) Also, I've never heard of 'big 4 unis' - is it just a HR thing? But its definitely true that big 4 accounting firms don't discriminate between usyd/unsw/mq/uts.

    Engineering Job Prospects?

If you are a top shit engo student, you can expect 80k+ in oil and gas. You have to be 'top shit' though, there are plenty of engo kids from unsw/usyd with 80 wams + solid work experience.

    Bachelor of Engineering/Commerce?

Agreed with everything you said until you said 'management'. Anyone who suggests a 'management' major to an undergrad is probably misinformed. A management major is a waste of time and even some lecturers who teach it agree (some people I know doing management as a 2nd major said). You are best...

    Ace your internship (Big 4)

This is a really good point. thanks man. Going to delete my previous post haha - a bit too specific. On the flipside, you should know how to say 'no'. It is really important, if you take on more tasks than you can do - people who delegate tasks to you EXPECT THEM TO BE DONE. When you don't do...

    Ace your internship (Big 4)

I think its because there are some people on there who clearly and intentionally over or understate things or paint the wrong picture. The vast majority are well informed posters. For example, I was RA for a finance lecturer and I saw him scrolling through Whirlpool during break lel. The way I...

What was your childhood dream job, and what is it now?

Childhood dream job (until I lost my 20/20 in year 12): Pilot (Emirates lyf) Now: MBB (chances of getting it = NIL)

    Ace your internship (Big 4)

I started mine in late November in consulting. The only thing you should definitely learn to impress seniors is excel skills. I was asked to filter and find something once which is pretty basic but i didn't know the quickest way to do it. But there is no problem with that, I simply asked my...

    UWS?

Is there a particular reason you are looking at a combined degree e.g. you may be under the impression that a single commerce degree isn't competitive enough (it is!)? IT and Law are obviously very different. If you go into IT and you will have very specific technical skills. You go into law...
