Re: HSC 2015 3U Marathon ohhh, since we're assuming that for n=k, fk[x] has roots -1,-2,....-k, we can put 'a' as anything? For example a = 2 , because it still has roots -1,-2,...-k. Is this what you're saying?

Re: HSC 2015 3U Marathon Helppp, my method requires me to prove a= 1/k! , from the pattern I know that a = 1/k! , but can someone help me prove it? Is it enough proof to assume a = 1/k! http://imgur.com/hTxQZ4s

Re: HSC 2015 3U Marathon A stone is thrown so that it will hit a bird at the top of a pole. However, at the instant the stone is thrown, the bird flies away in a horizontal straight line at a speed of 10 m/s. The stone reaches double the height of the pole and, in its descent touches the bird...

Re: HSC 2015 3U Marathon Do the under the ceiling condition first, you found max height in part i], so let the max height = 8 solve for theta and you will get 76*39' because the angle has to be acute (in first quad), secondly you need it to be over y = 3 when x = 3, therefore let x = 3, y =...

for 15 c) ii] and iii] , I simplified 80/0.5 to be 40 instead of 160 would I get 1/2 for ii] and 0/1 for iii] or since the concept was right, would it be 1/2 for ii] and 1/1 for iii]?
