So if Duty Manager's leave, who locks up and alarms the store at night? The Supervisors? I am the only person who is a Key holder who is a non duty manager (apart from the bakers) at my store, that's mainly because I'm only a 2 minute drive from work and second on the call out list (SM first)...

It's a 2 year contract position. Over here we have two franchise brands, Super Value and Fresh Choice. All of these franchises used to use their own PoS systems etc but now they are all being installed with WoWPos and all our back office systems, so I would be part of a team training managers...

Oooh got an interview next week at Head office to be an In-store trainer for Store systems. Applied months ago but haven't heard anything since so I just assumed the job had gone but got a call from HR this morning. I think it would be awesome.

We have like a booklet type thing by the main phones which explains how to handle events such as: fire evacuations, emergency evacuations, robberies, armed hold ups, bomb scares etc

I would go straight to your SM babikakez. The situation is out of your control - it's not like you forced the plates to slip and your CSM should not try to send you on a guilt trip because of it. Her behaviour is totally unacceptable as a manager. So she has to find replacement workers for your...

5 x 5am starts each week. What I enjoy most about it is the fact that there are no customers in the store for 2 hours. Me = :)

Sounds really great, but maybe go through and just check Grammar? Like there are a few 'i's in there etc. But other than that good luck. Although you will get sick of London, sooner than you probably think :P (Lived there for 8 years)

Re: Respect My Store Manager has been working at Woolies for 16 years, but I have no respect for him at all. As soon as he straps on a pair, kicks our SSM back into line and takes back control of the store then maybe I (along with most of the managers) will start to respect him again.

^^ lmao I used to refuse to do that with customers....i would come up with some cock and bull story like "Sorry sir but the computer requires I select the exact denominations that I put in and i can't alter that now"

Look at the stickers? But I know what you mean with the varities, at the moment we have: Packham, Nashi, Honey Belle, Sugar Pear, Doyenne du Comice, Taylor Gold and Buerre Bosc. Not by choice, all by allocation, we are trying to tell the Group manager we only want 3 varities but he won't listen.

Bit OTT don't you think? Sure it's covering your ass but if you take the change from the till carefully, without rushing then surely that is good enough? I never double counted or counted change back to the customers and my tills were hardly ever out. As a customer, personally I think it is...

We think we had an attempted break in yesterday morning. At about 5.40 we (As in me and the baker, only people in the shop) heard an alarm go off. Neither of us had ever heard this alarm, and then it stopped, so we just shrugged it off and carried on. Then I got a call from Alarm NZ who...

We go by 15 minutes blocks too. I don't care about the leeway when signing staff off though, if they work over the time they were meant to finish that's there fault not mine, so I take them back to the time they were supposed to finish at. Same with if they start early. Could sound harsh to...

Can't help you there, all our IDT's are just written up in a book and sent to the Cash Office. But we've been told we aren't allowed to IDT any stationary item. Apparently it works out cheaper if we order it from Office Max. But it's a pain in the ass when we have to wait 3 days when we have...

I only ever use 89 too for everything. It's too much of a hassle to switch when you are in the middle of doing your grading. Yesterday was my first day covering as Store Room Manager. Was pretty sweet up until 8.30am, I had all the pallets nicely organized outside, rollcages were all in one...

5, 5, 1 on the RF Gun to get into Inventory management, scan or enter the CASS/Item code and then you can check all the counts...SoH, SOO, SIT etc etc. Computer I'm not sure as we use a different system.

I got given Manager access in office about 2 months ago, told SM about it and he said that apparently a few people had been put in there by mistake and that he would fix it, but low and behold it's still there. Makes life a lot easier for me.

You should try arguing with your Store Manager, it is actually very fun. My SM and I have massive debates about politics/current affairs. Also about work related areas. Re: Lockers - There are only 6 Lockers available for the guys in our store...which isn't that bad considering there are only...

So do you guys have to answer Express call alerts? I used to but I refuse to now becuase if I'm going on Checkouts every 5 minutes then I'm not getting any of my own work done.

Of course we have homosexuals in NZ, and I'm sure there are a few at my store, all I was saying was it was a bit awkward for me sitting in the room while this guy was telling us (there were 3 other people in the staff room) about them. I don't have a problem with homosexuals, I don't really...
