How important is it to make notes?

idk man, I have no idea how anyone could cope with the hsc without notes. sure, if you're doing maths, no need for that, but for other subjects, you may have a great grasp of it at the time when you're doing it in class, but when it comes to trials, you've probably forgotten a large chunk of it...

Sleep over study, every single time.

Should I write digital notes?! 🧐

Imo, digitally is always better Reasons why I type mine up a) easier to search ie. ctrl F b) easier to edit c) accessible everywhere d) I solely study using flashcards and I have over 1000 for one semester's work, but even for when I wasn't using flashcards and were writing notes normally, I...

French Beginners Year 11 Preliminary Course

Hey, I have a few tips for you. For reference, I'm native French and came 2nd at SGS. I'm going to assume you're already fairly good at french. In that case, French at the HSC level is not that much about the language, it's about ticking the boxes. You'll know from experience that the...

HELP can I get over 98.5?!?!

You've heard this time and time again and you'll hear it now once more. Do what you enjoy. If you hate a subject, you won't put in effort into it and you won't do well. My favourite subjects were my best by far (Bio & Chem) and the ones I enjoyed less, I did worse in. Scaling between bio, eco...

    Maths help

The skills taught are actually quite important, I'd recommend sticking with advanced. If you don't get into medicine, any science degree you do will need maths as core units. Chemistry will also require a fair bit of maths at uni.

    ATAR help!!!

Yeah, you should be able to get the atar you want, just keep working hard. Also don't forget about the ucat. Even if you don't get in to usnw med, doing a bachelor's degree is also fine, since you get to do a degree that can act as a backup in case you want to drop out of med.

    ATAR Calculators

Not for the new syllabus, they haven't updated the databases

    ATAR Understanding help

Highly recommend doing advanced maths if you're capable of it. Science/medicine requires maths as core units

Which trial papers are usually the most difficult?

For Chem & Bio, Excel papers are by far the hardest.
  13. D

Does this mean that Year 11 marks will count as internals for our HSC?

that wouldnt make sense as their hsc isnt being affected by covid
  14. D

HSC 2020 & COVID: Where does this leave us?

You're gonna have to self learn. Khanacademy, textbooks, notes from the 2019 cohort --- anything helps
  15. D

    HOW DO YOU IMPROVE CHEMISTRY!!!

Khanacademy and the textbook are lifesavers, go to them first

Looking to trade Chem Resources for Phys (New Syllabus)

Hey, I didn't do Phys for the HSC but I need to do it for the GAMSAT. If someone would be willing to send me their band6 notes/some past papers/helpful resources so I can get started, that'd be g. I'm happy to trade for my notes and some past papers (all from last year) if you want.

    Physics Question Help (HSC)

    u is initial V, a is the angle x = u*t cos(a) y = u*t sin(a) - 1/2*g*t^2 subbing in x = 70, y = 0, t = 3.5, g = 9.8 70 = u*3.5*cos(a) 0 = u*3.5*sin(a) - 1/2*9.8*(3.5)^2 60.025 = 3.5*u*sin(a) u = 20/cos(a) hence 60.025 = 3.5*20*tan(a) solving for tan(a) gives 40.61 degrees I did this...
