How do i know if law is for me?

Hi Monica! Anyways to answer OP's question, getting involved with law competitions ran by the student societies can also help. I didn't really enjoy my first two years of law school, however, the competitions made a huge difference for me. It is the reason why I know law is for me. What you...

Need to Pick One More Subject - ACCT1511 or FINS1613

Not to be racist but maybe avoid all finance courses when a Korean lecturer is teaching. FINS1612 went retarded when I did it >.>

    UNSW Finance subjects...

    Nope. No prerequisites for FINS1612.

Which subs should i pick for s2?

If you can understand financial concepts well then do 2624 otherwise I say MGMT1001 is easier to get marks in than FINS2624. For someone to get HD in FINS1613 and only get a high Credit in FINS2624, it probs mean something :)

    Boring Degree?

I can totally understand what you mean haha. If I had a choice I would have combined my degree with Arts instead of Commerce. Starting to regret picking Commerce now. Finance gets so dry and boring. If I did Arts, I would have majored in a language, which is what I enjoy doing. I decided to...

Which subs should i pick for s2?

I wouldn't recommend doing FINS2624 and FINS3616 like that if you are not confident in getting great marks. The average for the FINS3616 mid sem this semester was 23/40. Last sem when I did FINS2624, the average was like 25/40.

    Open electives (free)

Oh Open Electives, yea some degrees do let you study any courses outside of your own faculty. I forgot which courses though :(

Which subs should i pick for s2?

If you decided on a major, you click on the major in the handbook and it tells you what courses you need to study for that major. FINS1612 is a core for finanace major. The Commerce degree at UNSW is very flexible. You can study courses out of sequence. I have a friend who didn't do MGMT1001...

    Open electives (free)

You mean gen ed? If so yes you can study courses from outside of your faculty but they must be on the list of approved courses

Which subs should i pick for s2?

If you are looking at a Finance major you might as well pick up FINS1612. It isn't a hard course but if you get a hardass lecturer it can be hard... ACCT1511 isn't hard either. Maybe ECON1102 if you like economics?

    Are assessments scaled?

Generally first year subjects are not scaled. I know Finance Courses in later years do get scaled not sure about other ASB Schools

Course recommendation for study abroad students at UNSW?

Business and Economical Statistics is mostly statistics however, you will need to explain some of the data they present before you. E.g. why R^2 is a certain percentage in a linear regression or why is the data collected bias.

Course recommendation for study abroad students at UNSW?

If you are not confident with writing in English, I would avoid MARK1012 and MGMT1001. They have lot of essays for assessments. I did Business and Economic Statistics, it's very mathematical if that's what you enjoy. I have not done the other two subjects.

    Acct1511?

    I find 1B easier than 1A but that's just me haha :)

    ECON1101: The transition between lecturers

    could be some other commitments?
  16. T

which flexible courses should i choose?

Um are you majoring in accounting? If so I believe CA and CPA requires INFS1602? CPA might also require ECON1102. MARK1012 is straightforward stuff but lots of content. ECON1102 doesn't have as much content but some concepts can be difficult to grasp INFS1602 never did it before sorry. I...

How exactly does a summer semester work

You can take any courses in Summer School as long as it is offered and you meet the prerequisites for it. For most degrees, only cores are offered in summer school. So yes you can choose to do 4 electives next sem (if you meet those requirements) and then do the two cores in summer school. Make...

    ECON1101: The transition between lecturers

Um I am not too sure about that. Dianne is the one writing the exam and she doesn't tell her class what's in the exam. I doubt Alberto knows exactly what is in the exam. He probably has a good idea of what are the likely questions only

    ECON1101: The transition between lecturers

Yup Alberto is very engaging in his lectures :)
