    B Science/B Education(sec) @ UNSW

My sister is doing that course and is majoring in maths; she's going to graduate in 2014. She has told me that she regrets doing the B Education bit, and that if she could go back in time she would have done a double degree in science and arts instead with a diploma of education from TAFE...

Trying to get into Woolworths/coles/Aldi/supermarkets as my first job. help?

Move to SW Sydney. If you do a quick search on seek.com, you'll find that there are a lot of jobs available for you with your qualifications as there are a lot of factories in that region. If you can't, join the ADF, and work in logistics. Just in case you're a bit worried about getting into...

    Questions on Arts Majors

Yep. I always go in one of the MB comp labs during the long breaks since the library is too noisy, and you can only use the comps in there for only an hour--not the case in the MB comp labs. Comp labs in MB are really quiet and surprisingly quite empty--there are usually just four or five...

Please rank these bachelors in terms of base pay/probability of employment!

If that Arts degree at USYD is a major in English, and you wish to become a high school teacher, your employment prospects are good. Same goes for maths and business/commerce, if you wish to become a teacher, that is.

    Questions on Arts Majors

For psych, study the lecture content more than the textbook content for the final exam. In all honesty, I don't think you need to buy the psych textbook. Just borrow it from the library for the mid-sem test, and you should be cool. You should read the chapter summaries first, and look up the...

For those prospective UNSW students who just got their ATARs

It has been some time since I have done it so I might be wrong, but I think that the TFN is all you need. When you get your student ID, you'll need to bring either a driver's license or passport. Apparently, it's better to get your student ID done before O-week since the line is long during that...

For those prospective UNSW students who just got their ATARs

You can still do it in semester 2 if you have previous study of the language you wish to major in or have lived for some time in a country where that language is spoken as a common language. You'll just need to apply through an online placement form. You'll probably have to do an extra language...

Staying fit over summer holidays (and into term time)

Don't eat too much (but also not too less. Eat well!), and run/jog for at least 40 minutes a day (make sure to run on grass or your knees will be stuffed, and run in the afternoon or evening and not in the morning. If you can find a route with some hills or some other incline that would be...

    Please help me!!!

A bit old, but meh. Watching the French news on SBS and being able to understand most of it or to get the gist of it is quite hard if your vocabulary is not very high. I suggest to read (do this heaps) and to learn French songs by heart instead or to watch French videos or audio with French...

The Official French Film/SBS Movie Thread

Nearly three years have passed since you asked this. I hope you have found the names of the films already and haven't been checking everyday for a reply to your question! Anyway, the first film is called 'Ni pour, ni contre (bien au contraire) (Not for, or Against (Quite the Contrary))'...

Have you worked it all out yet, buddy?

Diploma of Languages with Combined Law

Hey, mate. You can overload if you want to, and do five courses a semester, but you have to talk to somebody in the system to do so and you better have good reason and very good marks to justify you doing so, I think. I've read that the diploma of languages at UNSW is actually worth 48UOC...

Red Green Colourblindness and the Military, Police, etc.

This is a bit old, but meh. You don't need to be a British citizen to join the British Army, and you can join the British Army as an infantryman even if you are CP3 and maybe CP4 if I remember correctly (same for RM Commandos). There are Australians who are currently serving now in British...

    Writing notes....

I agree. I find that it is better to type them up and then colour code and highlight the important points on microsoft word. It's better to also have sheets of papers to study with than a book, where you're going to be flipping back and front to find the right pages to study from.

    Beginners language course

Most definitely, either through the Open High School (distance education) or through Saturday language classes (face to face) at your local high school that offers it. OHS- http://www.theopenhs-d.schools.nsw.edu.au/ Saturday language school-...

    Divorce.

It will stay at that percentage in my opinion. Is there a correlation between people marrying young (under 22 years of age) and divorce?

    ADF Gap Year

Have a read on the following websites first- http://ausmilitary.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=13 http://ausmilitary.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=13&start=50 If the answer isn't there, join up and ask. I would say that you would need to go to a YOU session as they test your eyesight, make you sit...
