    joining club

Two questions basically.. Since last year I've felt down about my social life at uni, second semester improved slightly, but as the new year is beginning I am starting to feel crap again since I don't have any common class with old friends, and some friends I met last semester does different...

    Another law dropout >.<

Inevitably, after 4 months of holiday, getting back into work is going to be challenging. As KK said, you just have to wait until you get to hang of it. I know how course outlines often makes the assessments seem harder than it is, and authors of law books like to stretch their sentence to the...

    How do I study?

Then I think social issue is indeed the main issue. Like you, I had mixed emotions during the first semester, I didn't know whether it was the work or the travelling or the social life that kept me down. But by the time you get your transcript after sem 1 and pass everything, you will feel that...

    How do I study?

please calm my dear op, I remeber I was just like you last yr lol, but look at me, I am still alive and well. My immediate advice to you is, rest!! hang around with friends, play comp game, relax. The !@#$ers at uni are evil and like to make uni courses seem much harder than it is. The first...

    How do I study?

Well, calm down first, it's only the first week and you really don't need to study if you don't feel like it. Studying can take different forms depending on the subject. Doing tutorial work and readings is the first method of studying. Some courses provides additional sources on webct and...

    Quick case note question

I only written 1 case note in me life for an assessment. It's not really necessary, unless you want HDs and such...

SCALING OR NO SCALING: That is the question...

I am unsure whether or not there is actual scaling. But in answering your second question, I'd think yes you can do "really easy subjects and get a really good GPA so you have a better chance of transferring" (ignoring other factors..) . Since the grade distributions shows that some subjects...

The transition form high school to university

Help is generally readily available. You can email, call, goto consultation hours, or goto peer-tutoring class, or just walk up to the lectuerer/tutor after class. It's just that it may take a little more effort than in highschool, and the help is little less user friendly. Learning pace will...

    Social Outcasts?

I realise that the few "outcast" in my school tend to be not so aesthetically attractive (not that they're repulsive). I feel extremely sorry for them because it is the treatment given to them by others that cause them to lose some social skills, I don't think there's any fault on their part.

    Fee Statements now Available

I've been having trouble working out how they work out the discount...paying $500 upfront actually got me $125 discount last year..any mathematician can lend a hand?

    Fee Statements now Available

Yes, it says no liability because if you choose to, you can not pay and they will automatically defer it for you. But you can pay anyway upfront and they will automatically update the fee statement sometime after census date.

    First Year Law Student

The title of the document have been renamed to avoid offence. Please do note that the document was not written for anyone but myself. It was written purely for the sake of convenience, as one would write "aust, brit, euro..etc." and no offence was intended. Edit..something is wrong with the...

    When do you start studying?

First 2-3 weeks can relax and pretend there's no uni. Can play comp and laze around and do minimally required work (i.e. tute questions that need to be checked and readings). Since the content tested in class tests is taught very close to the actual test date, one can't really go ahead and...

    How many units per semester?

24 units at unsw is the typical full time (typically each subject is worth 6 units). For centrelink purposes 18 units is enough to be considered as full time.

    Is University overrated these days?

It would be overrated in the past. Since one could get a job without a degree easily.
