    Advice needed.

EAS bonus is different to the other bonus points scheme (where you get band 5 or 6 = bonus). As far as I know, EAS bonus is applicable for all courses including law. So you may well be able to get in mq after all.

    Advice needed.

Is there anything nice that is accompanied with the UWS offer? E.g. scholarship? As Demandred said, 90.xx is indeed a bit too low for mq (unless you have EAS). So if the UWS offer is attractive enough, then I'd go for UWS. Though imo, your atar should be enough for you to be accepted at uws...

Is it possible to do a double degree, then drop one degree later?

When you can choose any course you want that's unrelated to you degree.
  4. chewy123

What are the best courses to consider?

    Yes, teaching is best.

Is it possible to do a double degree, then drop one degree later?

^^ Possibly, but I'd think unlikely. For example, when you do a science course 1st year, then decides to drop science, and cannot transfer the science course into your engineering degree, then you would have done an extra unnecessary course. But at UNSW (not sure about other unis) most single...

Important Future Career Questions About LAW!

It's still early in the HSC so it is still very possible for you to pick up the pace. My average school mark in yr 11 was in the 60s, and at the beginning of yr 12 it weren't much better, so work hard and things should work out for you...and yes, marks are scaled depending on your subject...

    Who is going to UNSW?

We are engineers too :P, we are social engineers:spin:

Considering law at uni but really unsure. Please help!

If it makes you feel any better, my uai is worse than yours (96.00) and I got into unsw law with eas. Currently I am on a Dn average (whether or not i can maintain this next yr is another story). But frankly my first yr at uni isn't the best experience in my life..though everyone will...

When Do we know which of our EAS claims are eligible?

You will never know which specific claim you will be eligible for. Some uni will send you an email/letter telling you whether you're eligible, some tell you how many points you will be getting...some don't.

    Combined Degree QUESTION

13 hrs/week last semester. 14 hrs/week next semester. 4 days a week. Some people are able to make a timetable that only require 3 days/week at uni.
  11. chewy123

    helppp

I'd go for UTS, you can always transfer from uts to usyd 2nd yr, and avoiding the extra yr at uni. Even if you don't make it, if you are willing to work hard then it's a law degree all the same. Then again doing grad will give you the benefit of doing a double major in commerce...so it maybe...

    UNSW Law Entry

I am pretty sure you will, I only have 96.00 and I got in.

    Laptops for Uni

Re: laptops at uni? 50/50..maybe books still have a slight majority. I prefer the good fashion book, it's light and I don't want my writing skills to go rusty...and i m cheap.

too late to apply for scholarships/EAS???

There are plenty more scholarships to apply for after entering uni, so dw.
  15. chewy123

    everyone is full of it?

Is that really the case? My impression is that more people say they have a high atar/uai without doing much work.
  16. chewy123

God I got so bad but can I still achieve my atar aim? Please help? :(

^Probably not now, but it will be after one semester of uni, ask the veterans at the lower section of this forum:).

    Assessment Mark Scaling?

What you said is what should happen. There could be a clerical error, or it could be that your teacher have been generous with marking.
  18. chewy123

God I got so bad but can I still achieve my atar aim? Please help? :(

I'd say probably in the 80s, though there may be a slim chance of a surprise. If what you told us is a HSC mark, it'd already be the average of your assessment mark and exam mark, so I doubt attending a top 10 school will be a concern when calculating your ATAR. Nonetheless, setting an ATAR...

    bonus points question

^The question seem illogical in the first place. atar cut-off is determined after the final round, so if not many people want to do it, then you probably wont need 95.65 atar to enter the course to begin with.
  20. chewy123

    bonus points question

No. You'll have to compete with others who also have bonus points. But note that cut-off for a subject isn't known until the end of the final round.
