    General Thoughts - Biology

I finished at about 11. Multiple choice was easy! took me 5 minutes! I did genetics elective, the butterfly question sucked, same as the last one. How was I meant to write 4 marks worth on one area of research?

what mark do you think you got?

yeah 70's. I'm in the same boat as silverfiction - 1st in trials at a good school, doing great, but royally fucked up the exam today.

    Answers to General Maths Exam

So anyway that last question - please tell me SOMEONE who did this course can tell me what the answer was :P I spent about 20 minutes at the end contemplating what in the name of Maths they wanted me to do. And good - some other people thought it was hard. No hyperbolas and parabolas! I...

Was Text 3, Section 1 a Dog or Human??

He used smell and the dog as a metaphor to add depth to his expression of memory. Agreed? Excellent :) Metaphorical dog. Dog's can't write poetry anyway.

    Lear - Dramatic Techniques

well I fucked it up worse than you all sound like you did. I talked about different productions continually revealing the same memorable concepts. I focused on the responsibility of man for his own tragedies and how Brian Blessed looks at this 'memorable idea' in a differeent light. I just threw...

What do you want to be when you grow up? Plans for after the HSC?

ohhh vet science - It's my dream job but it wont happen. But Sydney's Ag Economics course sounds decent.
  11. duck.fluff

Anyone thinking of doing vet science?

In relation to having to write your previous vet commitments for CSU, you have to do the same for USYD in their Vet science commitment form. I was so keen on vet science aswell until i realised that yesterday and can in no way make up work experience and joined organisations by the 14th Nov with...

    agriculture- snr science

theres plenty in the 'resource' section.

    Agricultural Economics

I'm looking at AgEc as my likely alternative to Vet Science (not confident about the marks), but because I already have a strong interest in Agriculture, and unlike most other BAgEc kids, have no interest in Economics. The pay apparently is fantastic, as is the employment prospects. It's an...

"a higher uai suggests greater chance of succeeding at uni."

Well I guess they also use the UAC system to decide your suitability for a uni course. Ofcourse there are exceptions but the system's really based on that yes, a higher UAI means you have more potential for succeeding at Uni. So many other factors to consider though. Like I'm aiming for a 95...

    Applications and UAI??

Okay - I thought marks would be a little less relevant because generally, our tests are harder than other schools. But lets say I'm averaging 90-95 in everything?
  16. duck.fluff

Does you school affect your UAI?

It does a bit, you'd be lying if you said it doesn't at all. eg: If I'm coming 9th/60 at a high ranking selective school, I'm doing better than someone with the same rank at a lower ranking school. So because half of your UAI is attributed to you ranking at school, not just the one HSC exam...

    Applications and UAI??

Not that this hasn't been overdone to crap, but I'm really struggling with what I should put down for applications in september. Our school's career's adviser is never there and I haven't had an appointment or anything, so surprise surprise, I'm wondering how well you think I'm going to do...

    Year 12 Jerseys

a guy at ours couldn't get 'cockers' despite his last name being 'cockburn' which is probably worse. We're allowed 12 characters on the back of our collar, and 12 charaters on our backs. Here's what I'm weighing up: (my name's karina) 1) collar - 'nananananana' back - 'HEY MAKARINA' 2) back...

    Standard vs Advanced

Honestly, I think advanced english is incredibly over-rated, especially at selective schools where people only pick it for pride reasons. Do standard if you don't need advanced english for a uni course. Do standard and kick everyone's ass as aposed to advanced and mediocre results.
