    The Woolworths Thread

I've seen an order form for it at work, I'd assume it's on Storenet somewhere.. 2 weeks holidays! :D

"Adoption should be legalised for homosexual couples"

What I am saying is that God must have individually informed all the cardinals, etc. of what he intended them to reinterpret his original word as, if you do indeed claim that the Church's interpretation is God's word. If this was the case, why would the councils take so long? Surely they'd be...

Rudd's $42 billion 'nation building' plan

Yep but what then does a one-off payment do when that money could be spent on infrastructure? I don't mind the infrastructure spending in the package, but the payments seem a bit pointless (other than to win over voters).

"Adoption should be legalised for homosexual couples"

And The Church is full of corrupt sinners - they are no more equipped to interpret God's word than any other normal human being/sinner. Surely the fact that the Church has held ecumenical councils over the centuries is testament to the fact that the "definitive word of God" has in fact been...

Rudd's $42 billion 'nation building' plan

Okay... question: how can giving people $950 to spend REALLY "stimulate" the economy? Like... even if everyone spent it all, it'd only last for a week and then the economy will just go back to receeding again, right? Isn't the government really just treating the symptoms and not the cause of the...

do we also get the $950

Why does "Australian worker earning under $80,000" = "Australian household earning under $80,000"?

"Adoption should be legalised for homosexual couples"

Unfortunately, we're humans, not gods. There is no such thing as objectivity. It is impossible for every Catholic to definitively interpret the words written on the page as they were originally transcribed. Any knowledge of semiotics would tell you that. No one can ever know what the writer(s)...

"Adoption should be legalised for homosexual couples"

' Okay, but that doesn't give cause to exclude homosexuals from adoption.

    The Woolworths Thread

Because of the cyclone everyone went apeshit yesterday and were raiding the long-life milk, batteries and canned soup.... there were so many customers in the store that all the registers were backed up to the start of the aisles and for some reason they started lining up right down the end of...

"Adoption should be legalised for homosexual couples"

    Just like heterosexuality begets heterosexuality....?

"Adoption should be legalised for homosexual couples"

Why shouldn't homosexual couples be allowed to adopt? It would help to somewhat relieve the public welfare systems, surely.

Management at my store have made staff buy a razor and shaving cream and shave on the spot when they came to work with the beginnings of a beard... I don't see the point.

Do you think that a second stimulus package is needed to boost our economy?

Don't give handouts... it didn't work. Cut taxes and create jobs - ban outsourcing. I agree, increase taxes on imports. Support farmers. But I wouldn't know anything :)

    Rules for Customers

Haha, maybe that's why they're so rich... it all adds up :P This thread is massive! But very entertaining... some rules I go by which have undoubtedly been said before but ah well: - If I am holding my hand out waiting for you to give me your money, don't ignore my hand and plunk it down on the...

Lucky you.. holidays over Christmas! No one is ever that lucky.. lol. I haven't got my lip pierced for the sole reason that I wouldn't be able to wear it at work or at prac so yeah.. no troubles with piercings lol, but they are pretty anal about it with girls at work with their nose or tongues...

Well okay, I don't see why you can't do service when you don't normally work in the office.. if you really want to just get the CSM to lobby the SSM to steal you for a shift or two. But I'd kill to be in the office lol.

    Calls to move Australia Day

This is all suprisingly beside the point, isn't it?

Wouldn't you rather be in the office? Sure you get paid at grade 2 but.. at least you don't have to serve customers :X
