    Piano music appreciation :D

nerdasdasd, why not upload some of your own recommendations? I really love how the Berceuse seemingly increases exponentially in difficulty, but still manages to maintain a mellowness to it. One of the happinest pieces I've ever heard! (also amazing how the composer of this piece also composed...

    Piano music appreciation :D

^ Why, thank you :) For anyone who isn't interested in listening to the whole 22 mins, please listen from 4:10 to 4:36 (preferably from 3:27 to 5:00 for the buildup + "diedown") . You can really feel the sadness within that excerpt (either that, or you may visualise a drunk guy on a starry night)

    Piano music appreciation :D

Simply mesmerising, especially for a 16 year old

    Piano music appreciation :D

His tempest sonata rendition is also amazing. + I also like Yundi Li, Evgeny Kissin, Nikolai Lugansky (most, not all) etc.

Does the university of sydney have a lot of korean FOBS??????

Enough with the derogatory terms please? Go take your racism and shove it up your ass (If you're racist)

If you could turn back the clock...

I'd have probably done Earth science or geography in addition to my current subjects. My future ATAR is still ass kissing me after I changed from standard to advanced english earlier this year

    Co op scholarship - UNSW

Heard plenty of good stuff about this scholarship. Must get up off my ass and go extra curricular now heh Any BOSers on Co-op? How is it?

    Thoughts on UNSW open day?

Did anybody attend the 12:50 finance lecture? The guy there seemed quite nice, but I couldn't keep myself from snickering at the way he said 'faculty' The 1:30 advanced science lecture was pretty damn good too, as well as the tour of the chem labs. So going there next year as well, but I might...

    Prelim bio

You need a minimum ATAR of 96 as a minimum to be considered. However the ATAR-UMAT relationship varies inversely i.e. an ATAR of 96 with an amazing UMAT score might get you in, as would an ATAR of 99.95 and a good UMAT. And then there's the interview.

The University of New South Wales Open Day - Saturday, 1 September

Did anybody go to the afternoon advanced science lecture? Hilarious! Overall, I really had fun today and everybody was extremely helpful and friendly + some super cool stuff in the tents (esp.the materials science stuff). The windy nature of the day had some funny results though :)

The University of New South Wales Open Day - Saturday, 1 September

So basically we first enter the Scientia, get our stuff and then head off to any lectures when it's time? What lectures are you guys attending/what do you all plan to do tomorrow? There's surprisingly not much action on this thread as I thought there would be. Really excited for tomorrow...

    Couch Time

I wouldn't be surprised if they were forced to lol Anyway, I've hated on them enough. Plenty of more things in the world to love

    Couch Time

Is it just me, or are the hosts some of the lamest people on the planet? Channel 11 may save a lot by axing Couch Time. I'd rather watch ads

what are your goals after the HSC

To recover from the depression resulting from a terrible ATAR

    Bachelor of Medical Science

I was under the impression that this degree was quite useless (unless you're studying it as part of the USYD MBBS 'undergraduate' program). Better off doing Science/Advanced science and majoring in something like pharmacology or neuroscience

The University of Sydney Open Day - 25 August

Damn, I missed out on a lot :( Just the one thing that worries me about USYD, are much of the buildings old (law definitely isn't)? What do the science buildings look like? I seriously hope the equipment + stuff is quite up-to-date + high tech. Glad to hear the great pharmacy reviews :D

Should I put USYD economics or UNSW economics first in my UNI preferences???

If you've already missed out on the USYD open day today, then attend the UNSW one on the 1st of September (Saturday next week). ATAR cut-offs are a reflection of supply/demand, not of course quality. Just because ANU has a lower cut-off for its law course than UTS doesn't mean that it's worse
