Re: Preliminary Books From what i've heard for mathematics; Cambridge, Fitzpatrick and Terry Lee are good. Excel Mathematics is pretty decent too. As for chemistry..Conquering Chemistry and for physics, Dotpoint. For more information, look at this thread...

Teenager shoots parents over Halo 3

What the hell. Now that's what I call an obsessive kid with no life? Jeez, it's your parents you're killing over a stupid game. He could of just bought another copy. Whats with Americans...guns = problem solved. Bloody Americans. Get some common sense.

    The Nokia N95

I think you may have been referring to Nokia N70. The Nokia N95 is pretty new. On another note: The battery life is alright, unless you use the functions such as your mp3/record clips all day. Then definitely your battery will drain. For me, it's a bit too chunky for my liking.

    Novel for belonging

Look through the English syllabus, your school should of prescribed/told you what books you'll be studying for. But on top of my head, you can do.. Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck The Joy Luck Club - Amy Tan The Hobbit - J.R.R Tolkein Alice in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll

    Maximising the benefits of procrastination

Plastering your whole computer table, monitor, bedroom wall, teddy bear? with little bits of paper that you have written notes on  And umm...writing notes on paint and making them your desktop background on your computer? Er..post in some heated-discussion thread and learn to...

How many page exercise book should i buy for year 11?

That's why plastic sleeves were invented XD. If you're afraid of sheets tearing apart, get some sticky tape and reinforce the taped side on the paper ~ works perfectly fine

Changing subject at the start of Year 11?

Give it a few days, like maybe one or two weeks. Second option is to see both syllabuses and see which one you'd prefer.

How many page exercise book should i buy for year 11?

Use loose leaf + folder and divide them by using those coloured divider/tabs. It makes writing notes easier because you can just keep flipping back to the relevant units/modules. I find books harder to do that. But, it's your choice =)

    Quick Question.

Anyone can achieve 99+ if they put in time and effort. It's all about your attitude and aptitude to your studies. What you put in, what you get out :) Your results reflect how much study/effort and time you put in. Be motivated :D

    Moving from Standard to Advanced

^ I agree. The modules are studied diffferently with different texts apart from the Area of Study. But if your school allows you to do so, I suggest looking at your peers who do Advanced English and asking them how the work is like. Or perhaps look at their work and then decide. Another thing...

Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides for Preliminary HSC?

Re: Help with textbook for preliminary? In my opinion, textbooks for english aren't good. If you can get your hands on one of them, study guides are better for your prescibed texts that the schools give you. Study guides analyse in-depth content about the book. For english, just keep writing...

Changing subject at the start of Year 11?

You can. 100% sure. I did two weeks of a subject, found I didn't like it and changed :). The beginning of Year 11 is just like trial and error. Nothing to be worried much about =)

    Fav/Worst Airport

Best: Hong Kong, Sydney and Incheon International Airport (South Korea) Worst: Beijing Airport (it was damn tiny when I went there four years ago). But I think they revamped it for the 08' Olympic games. (Have yet to see it )

    Study Discussion

Re: Memorise, understand, practice I think it means like the formulas/equation for maths and science. And for the other subjects, basically, the general idea/the big picture..

Torrent networks..and the occasional CD purchase. Although i'd admit CD quality music is far better than mp3 though.
