I have no clue how they do it. I guess our handwritings are pretty small. I ended up with a grand total of 12 pages, 4 each on average. (I had like 4.75 + 3.50 + 3.75, respectively)

I hate English as well, but I think that as long as you complete three essays, on average you'll get a Band 4. Don't quote me on that.

It depends if the related can actually be related to the module. Mine was a poem about bullying, and my prescribed for Module C was The Crucible, so...

My troll senses were tingling at first, but at closer look, despite looking demented, could work with my BS skills. (Not polished yet though, plan to polish it for later use in life.)

Probably a significant chunk will be lost. And I don't think you can use prescribed texts.

Not sure, but I think you can say that if you can show what the limit or extent is, and why that is.

Thank you for your responses. Although I understand that all aspects of the essay must show a skillful discussion, I have concluded from this discussion that an essay that answers the question with mediocre analysis will get better results than one with good analysis, but kind-of answers the...

It's rare but I hear it affects about one per cent of the HSC English participants. Chances are higher when taking extension subjects.

Strong thesis, sustained, discusses question + Relevant arguments shown in topic sentences + Quotes and techniques + Below average attempt at linking techniques to arguments but strong link from thesis to question + Academically sustained thesis throughout the essay, shown in conclusion = ?/20
