    Advice for french students

Hi , so I want to take french begginers long distance education because my school didn't run it (not enough people) , but I am currently in yr 11 ( and monday will be my second day of school). Is it too late? I want to apply at the open high school (the applications closed in november) , or at...

    Avdice: I hate bio

I'm in the same boat as you, Prelim Bio so far is incredibly boring I looked through the HSC syllabus for it and some notes and the content seems wayyyyyy more interesting. Personally I don't mind suffering through prelim since Year 11 is three terms anyway. Haha good to know I am not the only...

    Avdice: I hate bio

On the enrollment application for french beginners, it says it must be handed in by the 20th or I think the 21st November 2015.

    Avdice: I hate bio

If I can't take french, I'll probably just stick with bio , then drop it in yr 12 that way I have all my mathematically inclined subjects and less rote learning.

It isn't too late to take up french by distance ed. Speak to your year coordinator. https://sites.google.com/site/theopenhssydney/ ATAR wise as you need a high ATAR in order to do medicine biology would be a lot easier to achieve the required equivalent result. I actually really want to take...

    Avdice: I hate bio

Just so you know, I dropped biology only cause I had enough and wanted to reduce units. In truth, whilst still not having maths, HSC biology is a much more juicy course. So did you enjoy prelim bio? By juicy you mean more interesting? Because I am planning to drop this subject and take...

Also what do you mean by doing french via long distance, does that involve taking it at TAFE or something?

    Avdice: I hate bio

I am thinking of speaking to my yr coordinator about how I will be able to do french, since I can't do it at school. Is it too late though? And yeah I want to do medicine. But I am already taking phys and chem, with the intention of picking up 4 unit maths. Is bio really necessary?

BEFORE YOU READ THIS: The thread title is annoying me (typo) so please ignore it Okay so if you haven't read my previous post on subject selection, i'll just let you know that I am a mathematically inclined person. I did my first lesson of tutoring for bio and I absolutely just hated it...

OKAY so I have more questions : How do I show an equation in this case x^2-4x+1 has 2 real and distinct solutions. Don't I just use the discriminant b^2-4ac>0?
