    Semester 1 Timetables (2010)

Yes, you just leave it. Don't go back to the timetabling function of MyUni.

    Student ID cards

they're separate. There's a machine designed for loading money for photocopying & printing and one for loading money for visa purposes. The money loaded for the visa can't be used for photocopying. I'm pretty sure you don't need to formally opt out of this, as long as you dont activate it online...

    Student ID cards

I don't think you can link it to Paypal. I had one last year when it came out in the trial period and just recieved my new one today. The card is pretty restricted by ANZ&USYD as it's only a prepaid card not an actual credit or debit one. Perhaps that's why it's being rejected by Paypal...

    Subject Selections 2010

^ I see. I think my friend was confused and thought the older people were intermediate latin students, when they were probably just the 2nd/3rd year or honors people you were talking about. Sorry if i confused you, oh-em-gee!

    Subject Selections 2010

Very true. I did German during the 1st & 2nd semester of uni last year. In high school you definitely get a lot more support and time to really understand things and teachers have much more patience... at uni, you learn something, you might not understand it straight away but they may move on...

    international students question help

Hmm not really sure about BONUS points, but what i meant was the student (who did her hsc in australia) recieved a UAI of 90 but the cut-off for the course at UTS was about 75.

    international students question help

the situation does seem to vary based on individual unis .. well, for last year, i know of one international student who got her offer during the main round (unsw), but another int student didn't get it until February (uts). The uts student made into the course 15 points ABOVE the cut-off for...

NURSING at UTS or NOTRE DAME

my friend was faced with the same dilemma last year - UTS at Kuring gai campus or Notre Dame.. she picked ND and hates it. Not only is it more expensive than UTS and other public universities, you are forced to do theology and other religion subjects, which doesn't appeal to everyone.. so on...

what percentage people @ uni would u say join clubs?

I've just re-checked the website, it really is $99.. " 2010 Full Members of the USU (i.e. Members who have paid the 2010 membership fee of $99)". I agree. They claim that it's useful because not only do you get to join clubs but you get discounts (i mean a few cents to a dollar or so..) off uni...

    What's your skin care routine?

    1. cleanse with Cetaphil cleanser 2. use Biore toner 3. moisturise --> steps 1-3 every morning & night once a week on the weekends, i may also use a Dermalogica exfoliating scrub to get rid of dead skin cells, or sometimes one of those deep-cleansing facial masks. Works for me :) skin has...

what percentage people @ uni would u say join clubs?

At USYD you usually have to be an Access Card holder to join clubs. It's usually $99 (sometimes there's a discount when it first comes out during the year) which has to be renewed every year --> Access - the University of Sydney Union. After that, individual clubs usually charge anywhere...

    uni enrolment and subject selections

Haha relax guys... i was very worried too.. not only did i have to enrol for myself but i enrolled as a proxy for my friend who was overseas. To complete a degree, you need __ credit points right.. at USYD, it's about 144 for one degree (3 years) but more if you are doing a double degree. Every...

    uni enrolment and subject selections

Yes, on enrolment day you do have to pick subjects for semester 1 & 2.. however they can be easily changed online later. After you receive and activate your MyUni details you can go online and use ' Enrolment Variations' (not open around Feb 16 according to uni emails) to change things. And you...

Are equity scholarships paid out in lump sum?

Yeah. I have one at usyd, but the total amount is split into 2 semesters. Might be different based on what uni you go to, but at usyd, it's reviewed every semester to check if you made the academic marks requirement and sent to your bank account AFTER the census date (about a month after...

What do you hate about USyd

^ Agreed. Was so excited for Subway to open... checked it constantly only to see the Coming Soon sign. Pathetic. + bosch & hk ward gym toilets (never use the gym, but for examination purposes) ... disgusting + wooden benches in Carslaw / Chemistry Building / Quadrangle lecture theatres

    general course question.

"That the maximum number you can take in your first year is 48 credit points (that is, 24 in each semester of your first year). In later years you may 'overload' and take up to 30 credit points in each semester. Please note, however, that we strongly recommend that you do not take more than 24...
