    Exercise books?

For people who want to organise their notes in their spirax notebooks when it comes to exam time.. they're usually a messy, mass combination of lecture notes and tutorial readings, so it's nice to divide and clean up (plus to get rid of useless pages with dumb drawings from bored lecture...

What was ur first day @ Uni like, Uni Students?

really boring :( turned up to uni with a friend who had another class on at the same time, walked to the lecture theatre and grabbed a seat. It was a 2-hour lecture ; which included doing a bit of 'groupwork' brainstorming ... so we were forced to turn to the people around and us and talk. It...

    textbooks

lol resist it. I was in the same position as you last year and bought my textbooks a week before uni started. If only i had waited until lectures began.. turns out i didn't need 2 books AT ALL, even though they were listed on the co-op textbook list. Wasted about $60 there.

    Gender Studies

you actually can do it in 1st year, the pre reqs is 18 credit points (from anywhere).. so i did GCST - Intimacy, Love & Friendship in the 2nd semester of my 1st year. I did a review of it in the USYD Subject Reviews thread. I shall not be doing any more GS units...

    USYD Info Day- whose going?

Yes i'm aware, after being at usyd for a year. Many of my non-usyd friends called it cheap for not giving out many freebies, but i know they would rather spend their money on superior facilities and so on. Nevertheless, after going to the Usyd Open Day last year it was quite nice to later...

    USYD Info Day- whose going?

lol it's unlikely you'll get much free stuff, out of all the open days i went to (Usyd, UTS, UNSW, Notre Dame) usyd was the worst in terms of freebies. Well i was invited to a breakfast thing for the high UAI achievers at the 2009 Open Day but the majority of people attending will walk away...

Flexible Entry into a New Course

So true. I do the B. Economic and Social Sciences (the previous name of this degree, but with less restrictions). I'm being forced to do a Major and Minor in the areas of govt/ecop/econ/work ... and ANYONE doing an Arts degree can do the exact unit pathways i am taking.. a major in Govt and a...

    17 year olds?

doesnt matter. i was 17 when i started uni and wasn't 18 until mid-july. the only reaction you'll get is 'omg wow really? ur so young! i feel sorry for u' if you actually tell people how old you are. other than that, no one cares and most people won't even ask.

    Subject Reviews (with PDF compilation)

Re: Subject Reviews (PDF updated 17/01/09) GOVT1105 : Geopolitics Ease: 5/10 The only topic I really found interesting was the Rise of China… everything else was kind of dull and I fell asleep many times during the 2-hour lectures. Some people loved it and found it very engaging – lots of...

    Subject Reviews (with PDF compilation)

Re: Subject Reviews (PDF updated 17/01/09) ECOP1001 Economics as a Social Science Ease: 7/10. The material is covered very nicely, lectures are worth attending (although the textbook is pretty much a hard copy of them). The readings were quite reasonable in terms of content and size...
