For people who want to organise their notes in their spirax notebooks when it comes to exam time.. they're usually a messy, mass combination of lecture notes and tutorial readings, so it's nice to divide and clean up (plus to get rid of useless pages with dumb drawings from bored lecture...

lol resist it. I was in the same position as you last year and bought my textbooks a week before uni started. If only i had waited until lectures began.. turns out i didn't need 2 books AT ALL, even though they were listed on the co-op textbook list. Wasted about $60 there.

you actually can do it in 1st year, the pre reqs is 18 credit points (from anywhere).. so i did GCST - Intimacy, Love & Friendship in the 2nd semester of my 1st year. I did a review of it in the USYD Subject Reviews thread. I shall not be doing any more GS units...

Yes i'm aware, after being at usyd for a year. Many of my non-usyd friends called it cheap for not giving out many freebies, but i know they would rather spend their money on superior facilities and so on. Nevertheless, after going to the Usyd Open Day last year it was quite nice to later...

lol it's unlikely you'll get much free stuff, out of all the open days i went to (Usyd, UTS, UNSW, Notre Dame) usyd was the worst in terms of freebies. Well i was invited to a breakfast thing for the high UAI achievers at the 2009 Open Day but the majority of people attending will walk away...

doesnt matter. i was 17 when i started uni and wasn't 18 until mid-july. the only reaction you'll get is 'omg wow really? ur so young! i feel sorry for u' if you actually tell people how old you are. other than that, no one cares and most people won't even ask.

15 mins?!!! Marrickville is about 6km from Central and that takes 15 mins on a train. Hurstville is 14km from Redfern and it's about 25-30 min DRIVING
