    Probability

I won't do the computation but: (A) Pick the first digit to be 2, and then pick the last digit to be either 3 or 5, out of the remaining 4 digits. (B) Pick the first digit to be either 4 or 5 or 6. And then from the remaining collection: If 4 is the first digit, then you can pick 2 or 6 for...

Sor prelim help (nature of religion)

More generally Religion's sacred writings are often important because they are what is called "revelation" in some religions (Christianity, Islam are noticeable examples), in other cases they are laws, rules or guidance (again Islam, Judaism, possibly Confucianism and other Eastern religion)...

Sor prelim help (nature of religion)

Christianity: Transcendence Best way to think about this is that God is above all, as a creator kind of figure. For Christians, his transcedence, is key to asserting that his nature, authority is above ourselves, and that he is revered above others. Immanence For Christians, the idea of God's...

Sor prelim help (nature of religion)

Christianity holds that God is transcendant as mentioned, but also the idea of God being with us (immanent) (hence why we celebrate Christmas for instance), and God dwell in people (doctrine of the Holy Spirit). In terms of sacred text: you have the Scriptures (aka the Bible), but you can go...

    Is Dr DU good?

Also because they learn it all in advance, they come to school and do jack-nothing.

To all those who went to selective high schools

I think it is more a comment on human nature, its human nature a little, to be jealous of those who are better or more skilled. Competition is something like the survival of the fittest, ironically, the self-absorbed seem to be the ones who want to push others rather than pull others up...

To all those who went to selective high schools

thankfully not everyone there is strange and weird. the guy who ended up dux at my year at a selective school didn't require tutoring. there is a culture (not to be racist), but especially amongst the selective Asians, of not just reaching the A level but competitiveness. At my school though...

studying 10 hours a day is right or wrong

I can guarantee that it won't be 10 hours of quality study. the max you can do in a day is about 6, maybe 7 hours, with breaks every 90 minutes. 9:00-10:30 Study 1 10:30-11:00 Break 11:00-12:30 Study 2 12:30-14:30 Lunch break 14:30-16:00 Study 3 16:00-16:30 Break 16:30-17:30 Study 4...

To all those who went to selective high schools

People were always scabbing half marks (just so it would round up), so to some degree it was competitive. Most people are competitive really only Year 11 and Year 12.

    Is Dr DU good?

maths faculty at my school and I think science faculty both get annoyed at Dr Du tutoring.

    Learning to Math with LaTeX

    \displaystyle is my cheeky trick in LATEX for making fractions and integrals a bit more bitter if in a paragraph with $ $ here it doesn't matter sometimes For example: $text $\frac{a}{b} = \int_{a}^{b}{g(x) dx} = \sum_{i=1}^{\infty}{i} $text $ versus $text $ \displaystyle\frac{a}{b} =...

    Math help?

The symbol means approximately equal to. Perfect squares factorise to the form (ax+b)^2 (in this case a=1), that should start you off. Completing the square means you want to find something of the form (x+b)^2 = c [b] skeleton: Solve the equation 3y-1 + 2y + 3 = 5 that is 5y = 3 -3y+1...
