If it helps you to focus more on the rubric aspects while writing essays, then do it, but personally I wouldn't find it heaps useful for most of the modules - maybe AoS though - simply because the module rubrics are a bit more straightforward, and are quite broad in their scope.
re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive
I studied this today actually, what a coincidence.
Sugar cane is crushed and grinded to a pulp, and then heated to 100 degrees C, when dilute sulfuric acid is added, which hydrolyses the cellulose and starch in the sugar cane into glucose molecules. This...
re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive
We must make sure we consider the consecutive ionisations of citric acid - while the first ionisation equilibrium lies to the left, the 2nd and 3rd lie even more to the left. Hence, the difference between pH of acetic acid and citric acid is NOT simply because...
The following question was in the JRAHS 2011 Trial:
Because the HCl acts as a limiting reagent when the mass of zinc > ~1.1g, I figured it would be best to draw a straight line of best fit that went through the origin.
However, the answers have a curved line of best fit which did not go...
Aligning is the process which the BOSTES does to your HSC exam mark, it is described in great detail on that page I posted
Scaling is completely separate from the BOSTES: scaling is the term used to describe the process in which UAC determines your ATAR.
Hence someone who may simply be...
Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon
That's one of the most enjoyable moments, using that trick/shortcut.
Here's a cool reduction formula question:
If I_{n} = \int sec^{n}x dx
Find a reduction formula for I_{n} and hence, find \int_{0}^{\frac{\pi}{4} } sec^{7}x dx

New question:
Describe a first hand investigation that involves sulfuric acid acting as an oxidising agent and describe ways in which the accuracy and reliability of your results could be improved. 6 Marks
Say, for example, you get a raw assessment mark of 80. Then you go into HSC and get a raw exam mark of 70. The BoS align this according to their standards (Step 4 in http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc-results/determining-achievement.html), so they might align to a 75 for instance. Then the...
It's impossible to determine what your final mark will be, because:
1. Your exam mark (and the other person's) has to be aligned
2. These exam marks are used to determine your assessment mark. Your internal mark of 80 means literally nothing to the BoS unless they know your rank, spacing between...
The times should be equal. However, if we were hypothetically talking about someone on earth observing the rocket, or vice versa, time would appear to run slower in the observed frame of reference
After your raw exam marks are aligned (adjusted to the BOSTES standards), the sum of all the aligned exam marks of your cohort will be distributed among your cohort; this is what makes your assessment mark. The distribution of these marks is dependent upon your rank in the cohort and the...
Mathematics - If you reckon general will just be a breeze for you, definitely consider doing 2U maths - heaps of people who I know who are smart enough to do 2U do general - 2U may require a bit more work but the scaling is sooo worth it. It's an interesting course too
Advanced English - some...
I would suggest not doing actual past HSC papers until perhaps September - for the moment, it's better to do school trials. Often HSC exams are harder and like to mix up topics a lot - personally I find it a lot more useful to do school trial papers just to make sure I am very competent with the...
Maglev trains do NOT use the Meissner effect - the trains are simply 'dragged' along and levitated by repulsion/attraction between magnets on the bottom of the train and magnets on the rails. The only reason that superconductors are sometimes used is because they can act as very strong...
I had a speech assessment in term 1, all I did to make it 'speech-y' was say Good morning, and say that Hamlet's notions are "relevant to you, relevant to me, relevant to all of humanity" (dat anaphora tho)
Ended up getting ↑20/20
As far as I'm aware, some do and some don't. However, I suspect that as superconducting technology improves, more trains will use superconductors because of the very strong magnetic fields that they can create
