    HSC 2015 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2015 4U Marathon Here's my solution for part (i) and an idea for part (ii) - it's probably not written in the most mathematically concise way but it's something: https://imgur.com/kldJ69o

    Volumes concept

Hi everyone, I realise this is probably a simple concept which I just don't seem to be able to grasp very well. This was the question which got me thinking about it: https://imgur.com/tqbIeIi Basically, I'm confused about how I should understand calculating the volume in part (ii) in...

How do you do your past papers?

Sometimes I do it timed for 3 hours, sometimes I just do it like an exercise. It is true that doing the former increases your exam technique, however as you said, it does become very exhausting after a while. Personally I would suggest doing a mix of both and do whichever one you feel like doing...

HSC 2015 MX2 Integration Marathon (archive)

    Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon I got \frac{2}{sin\alpha }[tan^{-1}\frac{1+cos\alpha }{sin\alpha } - \frac{\pi}{2} + \alpha ] Idk if it can be simplified though

HSC 2015 MX2 Integration Marathon (archive)

Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon Yep - that's the way that I first did it to get an answer of \frac{\pi}{2\sqrt{30}} But then I started fiddling around with partial fractions and t method and solved it a different way - but I must have made a mistake somewhere because it yielded the wrong...

    Should I do 4U maths ... ? Please help

Do it, if you think you might like it. I thought it would be insanely hard, but it's not as hard as it may seem. If you don't like it you can always drop it

    2015ers Chit-Chat Thread

I just tried copying out one of my creatives with a new artline felt-tip pen - 900 words in 32 minutes, booyah :headbang: Seriously tho, using a felt tip is about 2836449% less straining on your hand than a kilometrico

    2015ers Chit-Chat Thread

Hmm... I reckon part of it may be down to the fact that up until about a week ago I've been using kilometrico pens - but this week I've been using artline pens which are much easier to write with. I might time myself tomorrow and see how many I can write using an artline

Just curious, how many words can you guys usually write in exam conditions in 40 mins? When it's a question I haven't seen before, it's usually around 800-900 for me and idk if that's enough lol

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive Another good one to distinguish between Pb2+ and Ca2+ is to add hydroxide - if a (white) ppt forms, Pb2+ is present, if not, Ca2+ is present
