    New uni mail

Yep, that also happened to me last night. No idea why, but I reset the password by choosing the option for them to verify my identity through location and secret question (as opposed to the other option of sending a new password to my alternate email address). Also, for those interested, these...

    New uni mail

Hey, that's great advice. I've considered doing that before for things like signing up for newsletters at random websites. So...if I do that...should I use variations of positions of dots? Like (to use your hilarious example) imalittl.eteapot@gmail.com for uni mail and imalittleteapo.t@gmail.com...

"Save record" in on the library website

Yay thanks! Wow, I did not even see that button before you pointed it out. :)

    New uni mail

You don't have to use an email client like Outlook to access the email. Just go to http://www.outlook.com. As for the password problem, it seems like a common issue. Call the helpline at 93516000 and press 5. They close at 9pm though I'm not sure if they open on the weekend. Also, if you can...

"Save record" in on the library website

When you look up a book on the library website (Library, The University of Sydney), the entry has this button where you can "save record". However, even after clicking it, I don't see the record being saved to anywhere I can find on my library account. What am I missing? It'd be nice if I can...

    Lecture recordings to mp3

Often, you have to click on a specific link saying something like "click to listen to file" before the window launches into the quicktime player. When you hover over that link, make sure it ends with "mp3". Instead of clicking it, just right click on the link and click on "save link as..."...

    Introductory Languages move too fast!

My friend does introductory French and I looked over his course book. I agree with what you said, there are too many rules without clear or sufficient examples of them in use practically. It's quite the same in the advanced course too. They give you rules that make you wish they had set up some...

    Introductory Languages move too fast!

Glad you got it settled. :) I'm doing Advanced French but I'm not really enjoying it. I did think of dropping it but then I realised despite how much I disliked it at first, I would regret not continuing French (having spent more than 4 years on it). Hope you like your new unit!

What time does the SOPHI office open?

Yay, I got my first choice of Q4. I got there at 9.40am and Q15 was almost filled up!

    "Participation" in language tutorials?

sandersen, thanks for sharing. My language tutor is Charles and my reading tutor is Francoise (whose excellent). I agree about what you said about people who talked non-stop. Well, anyway, I'm starting to recognise my classmates (fellow tutees?) and the class is now smaller as many hvae dropped...

    microwaves anywhere in camperdown campus?

    Ooo really? Where is it?

What time does the SOPHI office open?

Why yes, it is! I have a lecture at 10am too, so I guess it's best to go early. At the moment, my first choice is Q4. There are some other very interesting questions too.

What time does the SOPHI office open?

My tutor says that the SOPHI office opens at 10am, though he seems rather unsure. Does anyone know?

    lockers?

My friends and I actually managed to get a locker, which is in Wentworth Building. It's useful for days when you have lots of stuff to bring in. Although it's quite small, the three of us are making it work, so yeah, it's worth finding people to chip in and get some use out of it.

    "Participation" in language tutorials?

I'm doing French Junior Adv 5 at the moment and I'm finding participation in the tutorials quite difficult. Every week, I tell myself that I'll find some point to contribute but mostly I'm quite intimidated because I'm not as fluent as I want to be. On the other hand, I'm finding participation...

Double Business major vs. Single major with Diploma in Language

Unless of course you intend to work in South East Asia. Indonesian would be useful. I'm not sure I'm clear on the distinction between the various forms of Malay, but the Indonesian form must be common enough for the different parts of SEA. And, knowing this form, I'm sure you can understand the...

    microwaves anywhere in camperdown campus?

Can you just rock up and use the microwave? Or is there an unspoken rule that you have to be involved with their activities?

    Readings from copy centre

Also, if you order online before 3pm, you can pick it up the next business day. Sometimes if you're lucky, even if you order after 3pm, you can still pick it up the next day.
