    No Lecture for AHIS140?

Heard about this last semester... massive joke if you ask me. I bet their gonna go on strike again and withhold all our marks soon. But really the university needs to get its act together and devote some resources to its faculties..

Arts & Human Sciences Subject Review Thread

Yeah we need to prevent this from turning into an arbitrary slandering session while also retaining the need to have students review/reflect on their experience with their lecturer/tutor. If this isn't regulated properly somehow this whole thread could potentially turn counter productive.

Arts & Human Sciences Subject Review Thread

Agreed. I was careful not to do that in my own one, for every time I said something negative or positive I qualified it with a reason.

Arts & Human Sciences Subject Review Thread

Hi all, since i've been rooting for this thread for sometime now, I might as well be the first to reply. First a little background about me to help contextualise it. I transferred into a Bachelor of Arts with a Bachelor of Laws at Macquarie in 2011 from another university where I was doing a...

Are first years allowed to enrol in 200 level units?

If there are no prerequisites listed, then the answer is yes. I don't see why you have to do 14/15 credit points? The average load for a double degree is 4 units per semester, 4 x 3 = 12... If you're going to venture to do 5 subjects a semester (i.e. 15 credits) you need special permission...

    MQ Chatter Thread

Got this in my email about half an hour ago No mention at all of any future preventative measures such as replacing the entire system or increasing the servers to better handle the load. That's ridiculous.

LAW ELECTIVES 2012- 400 LEVEL. GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK

There are 500-level unit electives which can be done regardless of whether you're 4th or 5th year. In any case, these are all the 400/500 electives being offered in Semester 1, 2012: LAW442 - LAW-PAL: Leading Peer Learning LAW461 - Discrimination and the Law LAW466 - European Law and...

LAW ELECTIVES 2012- 400 LEVEL. GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK

Sounds good Azure. I will definitely contribute to it (whatever "it" ends up being)... I'll write reviews on all the law units i've done so far and even some arts ones too if there's a demand (I did sociology - not sure if thats popular). I'll attach Tutorial questions + unit guides + any past...

LAW ELECTIVES 2012- 400 LEVEL. GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK

I've been wanting to start a thread like this. This should be stickied or something, we can really really build on it... It would be even better if people could actively contribute to it by posting past exams or unit outlines to let future students know what they're up for. It really sucks that...

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

Thanks for your advice. It's been very constructive and helpful. I guess I will seriously consider dropping a law unit in both semester one and two this year - its just a matter of which one. I mean the most obvious ones to drop, I suppose, would be two 400 level units (International and...

LAW551 - Professional and Community Engagement

Just Accepted my offer. What now?

Only pick 100 level units from your Commerce Degree and 100 level units for your law degree. The "level" corresponds with the year, so 100 = first year.

Thanks for the advice :) I really wish MQ had an integrated PLT program :(

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

Thanks for that, as a sort of side question... How important do you think your choice of electives are when looking for jobs? Are there specific no-go/go-to zones in terms of electives for Top-tier firms and others for boutique or small firms? I only ask because your ahead of me lol so I figure...
