Yup, but I want to cruise through and do well - is that too much to ask? ahahha What electives would you highly recommend?

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

I know its emerging as a pretty crucial area of law, especially given that a lot of the world's major corporations today (i.e. Apple) depend on such laws to protect their property. I just don't know how interested I actually am. I know I am interested in this stuff, it's just a matter of how...

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

I think this is what I'm going to try to do... I just need to not get any passes and my GPA will stay at 3.00 - I think I can manage this.. I hope I can... Much appreciated, I shall rep you again as soon as I can.. at the moment it won't let me.. Gotta spread the love apparently.. PS: How did...

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

Haha yeah the "wait and you'll see" doesn't really do much to help reassure anyone! On Juris and Business Orgs... I've heard this also, most people are happy to just "pass" and the people I've heard this from are generally quite high achievers... My biggest fear is to invest too much time in...

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

lol... I'm trying to relax.. I guess I just don't wanna fail/not do well. So for International Law, you're saying that I should really just focus on the lectures leading up to the hypothetical and the ones relevant to the essay topic that I decide to tackle? Margaret's lecture style sounds a...

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

Hi Atlas, Thanks heaps for your reply! :) From my past experience with law subjects...I usually spend about 12-14 hours or so a week on each subject. I don't work at the moment so that is not a possible. In terms of minimal sleep, well.... unfortunately I'm used to it... caffeine is my best...

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

Hi all, I'm becoming increasingly nervous about this year (see attachment). A lot of this has to do with the nature of the courses I'm going to be doing, things I've heard about them from other students, particularly about Frank and Business Organisations and International Law. And also...

Does it matter what uni you go to for Law?

I agree, for the most part. Especially about the US thing. But just because one firm doesn't discriminate it doesn't mean other top firms share the same practice.

Does it matter what uni you go to for Law?

I think this is the most realistic piece of advice offered thus far in this thread. OP, to completely disregard the notion that prestige places a part in Job prospects would be doing yourself a great injustice and be naive. However as hungewelll337 has already mentioned it is very situational...

    Enrolment Issues (eStudent)

Hey guys, I can confirm that this was a temporary glitch and it has been fixed. I called them today (early) and they said they couldn't figure it out, by the afternoon I called them again and they said I wasn't the only one and that they were working on it. A few hours later I was able to enrol...

    Enrolment Issues (eStudent)

I've never had any issues enrolling before... But it seems as though I've encountered my first: Is this telling me that the class is full? If so, how is this possible? It's a core subject that I can only take in semester 1. It's also, strangely, allowed me to enrol in 400 level classes...

    LAW electives

In Torts with Penelope last semester our tutorials were in that room with the bean bags, it actually got incredibly annoying after the second class... lol As for George experimenting with the new C5C forum, he did that last semester with Crim. I wasn't in that class but he ran a class of about...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

haha to be fair, I think those things would piss me off too. I mean, putting up your slides on blackboard is pretty damn standard! It's the least you can do. I'd love a copy of that Electives Guide also Atlas if you don't mind... Edit: Thanks Atlas.. just saw your post in the other thread.

    LAW electives

I'm doing this in summer school. I've heard mixed opinions, some say its tough other say its easy as long as you do the readings.

    LAW electives

La Trobe university... There was class participation but it wasn't compulsory, so like if you didn't show up to tutorials at all you simply lost 10% but you didn't actually fail the subject because of it. In my view this is both good and bad. Good because it encourages even more independent...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

Regarding international... beware? This is the second warning I've received but nobody has explained why... what is it that I must be aware of!? Well I tried to get into foundations but its full... so I'm stuck with the four: Juris, Business, Constitutional Law and Admin 1 and I'll do...

    LAW electives

Good point kind sir! I have updated the list. Another idea would be if anyone has the unit outlines for these subjects from previous years maybe they could upload them? Or more specifically describe what the assessment criteria is and how much each item is worth (i.e. Assignment 1 - 20%...

Please help me make a decision :( ... its killing me

Again, be careful when your choosing your single-descpline degrees guys, because some faculties at some universities only allow you to do certain subjects. For example at Macquarie, I don't think if you're doing an Arts degree you can do electives from the Accounting and Business faculties...

Please help me make a decision :( ... its killing me

I can't really say for certain if you have a shot or not, all I can say is that in the past the university has accepted students with a lower ATAR and certainly lower marks than what they have published as the requirement. This ultimately depends on demand, if they get a 1000 or so students...
