Where's the Newcastle City store going? EDIT: And if you're going to include Maitland, Cessnock should be there as well - birthplace of legends.

That's just past the Industrial Drive turnoff isn't it? I don't recall seeing many Woolworths stores in Newcastle. Seems there were more Coles like in The Junction and Market Town (or is Market Town still a BiLo?)

Yeah, usually either I work one day of the weekend or mum does her groceries on the thursday/friday and gets them for me. Ours are just in a folder at the service desk.

Wow, my bosses are pretty good with getting the rosters done on time. They're almost always in the Casuals' Hours folder by thursday morning (probably earlier but I never check before then)

lol got called up asking if I could do 6-9 in dairy and then just after I hang up the phone rang again and got asked if I could come in at 5 lol. I don't know why they called me, I've never done anything in dairy. Think it's just face-up but don't see how it could take four hours.

I heard some of the other stores have Plasmas. We totally deserve one. Also, I never use the store's cutlery.

No, I think it's only ~20 and it's being expanded to 400 by the end of the year. If we had it now, Dairy's info would be messed up, for about a week the Coles 2L Lite Milks and a few different chicken burger products weren't on the system so had to be category entered.

Interesting. I think we might be getting the Easy Ordering, I think that's why we had our stocktake a bit early. I wonder if it will affect category product entry because I that would affect the stock on hand counts.

I believe the icon on the right is the connection to the back office server, I guess I.T. could have been updating stuff on there or something.

Our EFTPOS machines fall back to swiping if it can't read the chip first try which can happen when the user fiddles around trying to push it in.

    The Coles Thread

Yeah, the programs on the chip cards are a lot harder to copy (encrypted) than a magnetic strip.

    The Coles Thread

OMG Chip cards = MASSIVE FAIL About 3 of our registers' EFTPOS machines have crapped themselves, when they do work for about 1/3 transactions the machine will just time out and you have to push EFTPOS all over again and there's a massive delay between selecting YES on verify signature for the...

Ours was this morning. I said I couldn't do it though.

Yes :) That would probably be quicker. We have to push "Fresh Produce" and a QWERTY keyboard comes up on the screen to enter the first few letters and then hit "search"

    The Woolworths Thread

That seems a tad silly, I'm much quicker typing the numbers in than going into Fresh Produce and trying to type the name in. My stupid fingers always hit the wrong letters leading me to search for like "PEQS" instead of peas. Also, I don't like it when they add new fruits and it moves things...

They are? I've always just used 5930. I don't think we have any other options on our db. And we just have an alphabetical search for f&v

    Newstart allowance question

But as SnowFox said, failure to report can result in an 8-week ban and might look bad on your account. Since you're casual, then there's no guarantee that next fortnight or the one after you will earn any money.

So you guys have the chip cards working already? I found out our upgrade's the morning of the 17th and was thinking how awful it would be if something broke! IIRC from the Woolworths thread, that's because of the bank or something because chip cards are processed through a different bank system...

It could be a region/area trial to see how the software works, I'm not sure.

We're beginning to use the chips in chip credit cards. It starts soon..... 16th maybe. Basically now cards with the chips in them must be inserted into the bottom of the PinPad and remain there until the transaction is approved. Also, the Quickpay options are changing from having the (somehow...
