So who made it to BSc (Advanced)?

Are you thinking about doing maths SSP? I read about the extra topics for last year's SSP and they seem very interesting. People are saying the extra assignments are a kill though so I wonder if I should drop down from INFO1903 to INFO1001 just to buy myself some time. :hammer:

    USYD Combined Medicine Interviews

USYD' was my first preference, so technically I shouldn't know. But technicals aside, I did receive one dodgy email from UNSW congratulating me for receiving an offer for MBBS and a scholarship. 5 minutes later I received another email saying "It appears that you have accepted USYD's offer. Good...

    Transferring to medicine

Stay in USYD, finish combined law then enter graduate med means 5 + 4 = 9 years. This girl who came to my school last year to give one of those "we're so great, come to us" talks did that. @Danger: If you have enough UAI to get into combined law at USYD then you will stand a very good chance...

So who made it to BSc (Advanced)?

B Sc (Adv)/MBBS. I probably saw some of you during enrolment. What units are you guys doing for Semester 1? Let's all post up our units so we can watch out for fellow BOSers in lectures/tutorials/pracs/etc. I'll be doing: BIOL1903 Human Biology (Adv) CHEM1903 Chemistry 1A (SSP)...

    UAI Prediction

Quit trolling and go back to work. @Melissy: He's right. Being ranked first in all of your subjects (regardless of the size of your cohort) puts you into a prime position in terms of the moderation of your internal assessment mark. It is good to keep your eye on the goal, but in order to...

    Bsc (advanced maths)

Have you enrolled in B Sc (Adv Maths) at USYD? If so, I'll probably see you around for SSP. I'm currently enrolled in B Sc (Adv)/MBBS but they said that if I do the right units and satisfy the requirements, I can be awarded B Sc (Adv Maths) at the end. That's what I'm going to try to do - for...

    USYD Combined Medicine Interviews

I've been talking to some friends who are also in the combined med program. The majority feels somewhat annoyed that what we've actually been offered by USYD is just a glamourised and hyped-up version of the "rejects to grad med" pathway minus the GAMSAT requirement. I guess we can't help but...

    USYD Combined Medicine Interviews

It was only 10 minutes long - so nothing mind-blowing. It was a bit like a mini-essay to test your skills in written communication. I don't think it's right for me to tell you what it specifically involved. Why not try for yourself at the end of this year and let me know what you think? :)

    Question on Result

They were giving out application forms during enrolment. Yeah, the 2008 entry requirements have been lowered. It's at least 98.5 UAI + Band E4 in MX2. Apparently, although you automatically qualify for SSP if you're enrolled in B Sc (Adv Maths) you've still got to fill out an application form...

    Textbook Maths in Focus

Keep in mind that the textbook you use to assist your studies is not the sole determinant of your performance in the HSC. To do well in the HSC, you need to have extensive knowledge of the course content and proficient skills in applying your knowledge to solve practical problems. On top of...

Can i still do it ?

You can most definitely achieve your goals if you stay focused and determined. You have done well in your first assessments, given that you have missed so many lessons. The first assessments are worth little in the grand scheme of the HSC - it is your final internal ranks that bears 50% of the...

    Premier's Awards

Re: Premier's Awards...? BOS did say "Students will still be recognised on the All-Round Achievers List and will receive a Premier's Award. However, instead of attending a long ceremony in Sydney in March, they will receive the award with their HSC credentials in January." I didn't get it...

    Differentiation :Help please! :>

All of these questions rely on the same principle: find an expression for one variable in terms of another (this is often given, if not then it requires some simple algebraic manipulation of given conditions to obtain) and then using differentiation to find the rate of change of one variable...

    simple maximisation/minisation question

We can have our session on a school day (once term recommences, of course) - it only takes about 10 mins by train from Petersham to Burwood.

    Help: Projectile motion

As with any question, the first step is to translate that chunk of English text into a mathematical relation. In this case, we are after the condition for collision. Think about what "collision" implies about the position of the two particles in terms of the mathematical description of their...

Since you go to FSHS, you mustn't live far from Burwood. How about I tutor you?
