    Question about KPMG - M&A

Hi ya'll I applied for the KPMG vaccies program kind of last minute. I hadn't really done my research so I just chose Corporate Finance at random as my 1st preference since it looked kind of interesting. Got an assessment centre thing this Friday and they said they'd put me in Corporate...

    Summer clerkships 2009/2010

This whole process has been more nerve-wrecking than I thought it would be. I wish entry into the law profession is structured more like the medical profession. Like my gf who does a speech pathology degree. In their penultimate year they get placed into private clinics where they do work...

    So is Law Enjoyable?

straight up answer work/life balance if you want good marks then you wont have much of a work/life balance unless you just naturally click with law if you just want ok marks, you'll be fine, you can manage to get by on friends notes etc, in this case, you'll have a pretty good work/life balance...

    So is Law Enjoyable?

It's more reading then researching. You'll do 95% reading textbooks and casebooks and 5% time researching. Most annoying thing is reading judges who write 10 line sentences (and i'm not kidding, i swear some of them can put 200 words into a sentence easy)

    Law 'extra curriculars'

you can't. unless you're one of 'em rhodes/fulbright scholar overachiever types. do something for your law society (or just be really good friends with the law soc president). try to get an article published in a law journal (it's not as hard as you think). volunteer to a charity (once a...

    So is Law Enjoyable?

First, your question is way too subjective. Whether you find law enjoyable really depends on you. That being said, from personal experience, studying law in uni turned out to be not even close to what I imagined it to be like while I was doing my HSC. Here's what I learnt at uni - to enjoy...

    Summer clerkships 2009/2010

How is everyone managing the workload this semester, balancing uni, work and clerkship stuff? Personally I'm finding it pretty tough. Especially during the time of the 1st round interviews in early Sept, as I have a lot of midsems and assignments due.

    Summer clerkships 2009/2010

I asked my friend who went through all this last year the same question. He told me that you should accept the offer from the Big4, and then see if you receive an offer for law firms. if you do, you just call up the Big4 and make up any random excuse. This is what I've been told. In terms of...
