Thanks for your awesome help, D94.

    subject selection help!!

Solid subjects. In year 11, you need to do 12 units (you can drop to 11 units at the end of year 12). That means, you would need to pick another 1 unit (to do for fun (maybe sport or arts) and drop at the end of year 12). For economics (I didn't do it), I think all you do with maths is push...

Are the 5 chapters that Terry Lee's Ext 1 Preliminary textbook exclude important?

Parametric equations and circle geometry are important parts of preliminary maths. The other 3, you should already have a deep understanding from junior years. Your school will provide you with textbooks, won't they? Schools usually provide Maths in Focus, Fitzpatrick or Cambridge. In my...

    Motion and physics

No, not at all. Mechanics isn't a hard topic to understand. I will be more worried about Inequalities and Probability (both under harder 3U). Back to the question, as long as you understand that you can consider a motion in components (i.e. horizontal and vertical (same as physics)) then...

HELP: Is Commerce, Business, etc BORING?

A "boring" major might not be boring to another person. I say, study what you want and if it turns out to have good prospects, then think of it as a bonus.

'I study a lot harder than them, but they still beat me. Why?'

Also, keep in mind the idea of studying smart.

Chances of getting into Usyd Science?

I think highly likely unless this year's cutoff raises higher than +5 of your ATAR.

    UNSW Engineering Major

Thanks :) Then what is Food Science and Technology at the bottom of the page (http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2014/3040.html) considered? Also a major under..?

    UNSW Engineering Major

Using Chemical Engineering as an example, where are the listed majors in the handbook (http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2014/3040.html)? Under Area(s) of Specialisation? Is Chemical Engineering considered a major under the degree Bachelor of Engineering? Sorry, just...

UNSW Bachelor of Commerce - Timetable Questions

Just wondering, at this point, are we only making a timetable for S1?

    Advanced Mathematics.

They should update it on the flexible entry scheme wizard. Brings everyone's hopes up and then shattering them. Sorry Hoorayz1 for bringing your hopes up. Good luck to the both of you, Hoorayz and Makematics, wish you get into Advanced Mathematics.

    Not understanding Atar marks?

Type those marks into the Matrix ATAR calculator. On the side of each subject, it'll give you a rough ATAR equivalent. They will tell you which ones dragged you down.

Is my workload to big ???

^ That's a good thing. If you experience it in year 11, you'll know to fix it up for year 12. You're currently studying 13 units and I guess Catholic studies is compulsory. Like you said, you can always drop a subject at the end of year 11. Year 11 reflects year 12 very well (despite the fact...

Is uni really a fresh start?

Yay! We're all going to get classy! *wears monocle* EDIT: I should stop with this immaturity.

Where does it say that in the link?

    Advanced Mathematics.

If they study the SAME major, they can.

    Advanced Mathematics.

I think those are just example. Even if UNSW doesn't list it, I'm pretty sure you can still find Actuarial jobs if you study B Sc (Advanced Mathematics) at UNSW. That DOES NOT correlate directly to how good a course is. The number basically means how popular it was last year. Universities...
