    Rules for Customers

here's my additions (sorry if i've repeated any anyone else has said): Woolies:- Don't come in and expect to buy all my change off me, i need it more than you do. - don't complain to me when the supervisers are slack and take forever to get your cigs, you can go to the front counter and get...

    ne 1 work at KFC

yeah the kfc near me is shocking. their service takes about 10 times as long as any other fast food service and they ALWAYS get it wrong. not really surprising that they are always advertising for staff... theirs are useless incompetents who look half asleep all the time. my cousin used to...

    Uni living arangements

yeah if i had a lot more money i'd move somewhere closer to the uni. for a 9am start i have to wake up at 5.30, leave by 6.30, get to the station just after 7 (cos any later and i can't get parking) train leaves at 7.20 (if it's on time... which it usually isn't!) get to central round about...

    Uni living arangements

i currently live at home cos i can't afford to move out. And i would get very homesick. But it takes me 2 hours to get to uni each day... so i spend 4 hours on public transport for 2 one hour lectures on one day which is very annoying. But i know there are people who live further out than me...

    Sociology 1001- test?

i had that test today. and i didn't start even looking at the stuff till 11 last night! i screwed it up majorly, and they gave us the questions i didn't want. i only wrote 50 to 100 words on each and that's cos i TOTALLY blanked in the test, even tho i thought it was going to be ok cos i went...

    pay at myer

i was an 18 year old at myer when i worked there as a christmas casual. i got 12.15... (something, who cares about little decimal points?!) anyway, yeah it was 12.15, dunno if it's changed since the end of february.

    Lush

my cssm at myer used to be a manager at lush. she said it was ok, she rose through the ranks there really quickly, but after that there's not really anywhere to go as far as a career. manager of a small shop. dunno, i would have been happy with that! anyway, i'm not really sure how you apply...

    missing tutorials

i'm doing education but we got told if we ever miss one to go to another tutorial for the week. Just make sure you tell the teacher/professor person and they mark you as being there. Cos you don't want to miss out on anything, esp when i need 90% attendance to pass. just check this with your...

    transport costs

i have to pay: petrol for half hour trip to station, can't bb figuring out how much, but my car's expensive on petrol. and home again. 5.20 return train ticket. 2 x 63 cents per bus trip with travel ten. but i'm only at uni 3 days a week. another day i have another half hour's driving...

    Notebook recommendations

I have an IBM X31. It's good in some ways, but i get totally pissed off at it in others. Main positives: - small and light, 12" screen and only weighs 1.23kg. - has centrino, which i really wanted. Main negatives: - only came with 256mb memory, and xp really needs 512 to run at full...

    Do you ever give up

yep i've given up on people... but then i know i've also learned from them, with their different personalities and what they want/look for etc. so it's all good. and no, i have not yet gotten to the stage of giving up on relationships entirely - there's always someone out there who's right...

how is my wage going to be determined?

ok, if you work for a large outlet, or one with chains and a number of stores, then the company will usually have negotiations with the union. e.g. the sda, which basically covers most retail employees and negotiates with many companies. Otherwise, the company will either pay you an award wage...

    Food at USYD

everyone raves over ralphs... it's passable, and so far the best i've found, though i can't really bb walking anywhere very far from the education building and manning is usually too crowded.

    Education

i'm in education too! i wondered if they'd put it under the arts category, but since there are no threads there i must assume we are in the complete minority and therefore don't justify the creation of another sub-forum. :(

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

i read it a while ago, so it's not fresh in my mind, but i did love it. It was so moving, yes i cried too. though i never realised it was based on her life and experiences. Such a sweet story even though it is twisted and creepy.

    women's tennis ball skirt thingy

Some of them do have pockets. And you quickly get used to it, not much of a hassle. They're upside down and because the fabric is so stretchy, it's easy to get them in and out, but they also hold the ball in there because they're tight. I know, i have them on a few of my tennis skirts...

    Kmart Christmas Casual

I work at myer and up until about 3 weeks ago i was working full time. Up to 60 hours a week, for which i was very grateful. Now i only get one shift a week, they desperately need staff to work, but they can't give us any work cos they used up all their budget at christmas and sales and can't...
