How come double degrees are more work, I wanted to do a Comm/science degree, would that mean I have a tonne of work too? Cause it is 5 years while a normal comm or science is 3 and i figured with overlapping classes it should work out to about the same amount of work?

Only 3? But they came 2nd??? I know that a couple of the girls schools got 1 and one (can't remember which) got 2. And syd grammar got 5.

Hey BoS, I keep hearing people talking about getting so and so band or mark in the HSC while I really have no idea about how all that crap works. I mean I understand that 90-100 is band 6 and E4 is for extension, scaling, how ATAR is calculated etc. etc. but not so much with what kind of HSC...

Well, at our school the principal has said a couple of times that really good years tend to be followed by bad years. And he's been there for i think 15-20 years so he has some experience.

No it doesn't mean that girls will go let's beat the boys or whatever but ATAR estimates will be based off last years results. When girls get them they will be lower than they should be and thus work even harder to do well in the HSC. Same with Ruse.

I doubt grammar will lift their game much, apparently this year is a bit derro but considering that this ranking is based off HSC marks that could work in their favour since they'd do easier subjects. Also, i think last year was their 2nd or 3rd best year in the last 10+ even though they dropped...

Oh okay, that's weird. I'm in NSW too, we've just gone straight into all the topics like chemistry we're doing the first module stuff like that.

Legally? I read somewhere on the BoS website that you can start it after finishing the prelim course... So then, what are you doing in subjects you haven't started?

How are you starting year 12 next week? We're already 2 weeks through the HSC course in every subject except maths, cause maths is complicated with all the courses.

Does work during free periods or lunch count? Because with that I would probably be doing around 3 a day but with more on weekends to tie up loose ends and revise the week's work if I have time.

asianese, you're at a top 10 school and the cohort is VERY strong with 10 99's this year? :/ seems rather weak to me... (for a top 10 school i mean)
