    should i still do 4U?

I got 81% for my 3 unit yearly and I still did 4 unit. So don't worry about it too much, a lot of the time you just can't be bothered revising even simple things in yr 11. That changes once u get to year 12. As long as you think ur capable u shuld be fine

    Finding the greatest coefficient...

Yep, greatest coefficient in every exam/book I've read implies greatest magnitude. EDIT: Although, usually in the final answer you'd omit the negative sign. Atleast thats how it is for us. You'd have to check specifically with your teacher though.

    Swearing in short story

Really? We were explicitly told to leave that out for the reasons I said above. But you've got a point, it shows his emotion and reinforces his standings as "more human than human". I don't know if I should ever keep the word in. That quote never came to me in an essay before...

how does a behavioural approach to staff managemnt assist in managing change??

Open communication channels means a clear, shared sense of vision can be disseminated to the rest of the business. This in turn means that management can effectively communicate the change process Teams instill confidence within employees in implementing change, allowing a unified approach...

What Did People Think Of CSSA Business exam ?

I don't understand. I think the syllabus is very clear on what they want. I quote: "Solvency - Gearing debt to equity" Why have some people decided to teach something about assets to equity? Although its used in the business world, theres no mention of it in the HSC course?

    Swearing in short story

I wouldn't. I remember reading the HSC marking guidelines (cant remember which year). They said a lot of people swore and it was innapropriate and they pretty much suggested don't do it. O yer. And even if you could swear, still don't do it. You might get a marker that gets offended and you...

for those doing business, why did you choose it?

LMAO. Yep. I chose it cos I've always had a fascination in business, not so much the economy though. O yeh, and despite my interest in science, someday I'd like to enter the business world. The subject can be really useful imo. Oh yeh and I should admit, I hate the ethical and legal parts...

Hmmm. I don't sit the CSSA paper but just trying to get the relative difficulty of this years paper. What do u guys rekon? Did it closely resemble the 08 paper in terms of difficulty?

    Curves + Tangents

    1) Basically, if you draw both graphs, you see that the line can only pass through the origin. Now, this gradient should be greater than that of the curve sinx, if you take the derivative of sinx, you get dy/dx = cosx, now dy/dx is a maximum when x = 0 and dy/dx = 1 So this gradient must be...

    Curves + Tangents

    3) When x = 2, y = 4/2 + 2 = 4 so: 4 = 4a + 2b + c ....................(1) For the quadratic, take dy/dx you get dy/dx = 2ax + b Now when x=2, dy/dx = 4a + b Now for the hyperbole, take dy/dx you get dy/dx = -4/(x^2) Now when x=2, dy/dx =-1 Because its a common tangent at that point...

    Interest Rate Q

Basically these questions involve a sumation of compound interest. Since our initial sum (500) is not the same as the regular deposits (20), so you consider them separately.
  15. Michaelmoo

    quick permutations q

Your right. If the question asked Find the number of ways in which the letters of the word EXTENSION can be arranged in a straight line so that no two consonants are next to each other, then they'd be right.

    Is this a legitimate theorem?

lol. Yer, so that way the marker will feel stupid if they decide to mark you wrong. Where? I don't think theres any mention of a trapezoid there. Just an issoceles triangle...
  17. Michaelmoo

    Is this a legitimate theorem?

Hmmm. Yer its widely accepted. I can use it for the trial. Wont risk it for the HSC though.
  18. Michaelmoo

    Is this a legitimate theorem?

Just wondering. "Base angles of an isoceles trapezium are equal" Is this a legitimate theorem for the HSC? I came across a question where this would be useful. Its just that I cant recall any mention of this in the preliminary/HSC course (except in year 10) Thanks in advance

    Binomial Theorem

NUther way to think about it is get the binomial term that contains x^q, so that when you divide by x^q, your term is independant of x. i.e. (p+q)Cq
