What subjects are you thinking of dropping next yr?

Yes, english extension is indeed a one unit course. What I'm saying is that there's nothing to lose because they can count one extension unit and 1 unit from advanced. That's 2 units of english. Or if the kaiser performs brilliantly in all 3, then all three count.

    What are you allergic to?

Allergic to dustmites, pollen, blue crabs, Johnson Johnson 'Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser', and MORPHINE. Violently allergic to morphine. One potential drug addiction off the list. :D

What subjects are you thinking of dropping next yr?

That isn't necessarily the case. I asked my school deputy principal about this and he said that all units count. That's why certain things are worth two units, and they will count only one unit from it if that's what gives you better marks. For example, if you get a scaled aggregate of 45...

    How tall are you?

170 cm, haven't grown since year 7. I want to be 175 cm!

Which subject is best and why? Chem, physics, bio

Ok, well from what I'm reading off the tables, to be in the 90th pecentile and above, the scaled mark required was 42.6 for chemistry and 41.7 for physics. I guess my idea of it is that you wouldnt have needed as high a mark, in 2007.

Did you enjoy Emma by Jane Austen?

I DEFINITELY agree with that statement there. But I have to finish it because I'm getting assessed on it in my yearly next term, I think.

Which subject is best and why? Chem, physics, bio

PHYSICS FTW! I think physics is the most interesting of them all. This doesn't have any relevance to my love of math though. Physics is essentially very applicable to all sorts of situations, like driving, cycling and flying. Then there's electricity and different ways of harnessing energy...

Does music help you study or do homework?

Haha. Well, I like a variety of music that was typical of those decades. In the 60's there were The Beatles. In the 70's, it was disco music, like Earth Wind Fire and there was heavy metal like Led Zeppelin and rock like Queen. In the 80's there was Michael Jackson, The Eurythmics, Aha, Toto...

Can an Atheist Please Explain to me how the Earth came about?

Exactly. We don't know. No one knows at this point in time. But we're interested enough to find out. Well, like I said earlier, the burden of proof lies with the religious. Just because these atheists of yours can't answer a question, doesn't mean they're wrong or inferior, as you seem to...

Can an Atheist Please Explain to me how the Earth came about?

At any rate, I think it's a concern that atheists continue to evolve while the religious don't! :) Conics2008, what you said was essentially verbal seppuku. Hehe.

Can an Atheist Please Explain to me how the Earth came about?

We are all born as atheists. It is due to social conditioning that we formulate this idea of 'god' and 'culture'. Creationism is the mythology behind these ideas, concerning the prime motivator of everything, 'God'. But the burden of proof lies with those who believe in God NOT the...

Does music help you study or do homework?

Yeah it can sure help. Depends what kind of genre too. I'm a great fan of jazz and 70/80/90's music, so that may pose a bit of a problem... But I have heard somewhere that listening to music while you are studying is detrimental because it decreases the capacity to recall. Basically, by...

    Socialism,Facism,Communism,Nazism & Capitalism

Yes, exactly that, said with dripping sarcasm. Sure, there was Hitler who discriminated against Jews, but there was also Mao how wanted to kill everyone regardless. I think for the record, he managed to kill the most people... But as Stalin said, "One death is a tragedy. A million deaths is...

    Socialism,Facism,Communism,Nazism & Capitalism

When you think about it, everything we devise of is inherently rooted in our vain pursuit of personal prosperity. (personal and/or collective level) Rich countries (general mentality) would like to think that they are oh so philanthropic. If the national interest is their own domestic...

What does the HSC mean to you?

What does the HSC mean to you? How much do you want to succeed? What does it mean to you if you fail? What are the repercussions of failing/going bad? Will your life be over if you stuff up in the HSC?The HSC is apparently something very important. However, I can't exactly impose this...

James Ruse are cheaters and the BOS do not care.

Haha, I guess the debate's about whether or not it is fair that JRAHS gets to 'learn ahead' with its mass accelerant operation. At my school, they completely prohibit acceleration. Why? It is the firm conviction of the school authorities that we'd screw it up otherwise. And yes, it's one of...

    Mastering English = Possible?

When you quote the number of students in the grade and say that they 'all' do extension 1 english, is that the student's decision or the school's decision? I know that at my school, as we are currently in year 11, we are forced to take advanced, and next year, we have the option of standard.

    Your Top/worst Subject?

Best: Math/English (including extension). And VA. Worst: Chemistry... it's terrible. And physics is very enjoyable.

Benefits of advanced and extension english

I guess there are many people who want to take spare units. If you took 12 units for example, and as the BOS states that at least 2 units of english must count, if you did poorly in advanced, and actually did the extension two course, they can count your english extension 1+2 and obliterate...
