i don't really favour one over the over (i.e. memorisation vs mathematical applications). from my subjects, u can see that i do subjects all over the place - not necessarily leaning towards science, and not towards humanities either.

IMHO, hsc maths ext 1 is easier than preliminary. last year i finished on 70%. however, this year i'm currently on 87%. it might just be me, but i find the hsc topics easier than yr11 topics. my initial attitude towards ext 1 maths (at the beginning of last year) was to rote memorise...
