ENGL 1007 is ... interesting.
It's sort of a strange hodgepodge of stuff about grammar, linguistics, the history of the English language, semiotics, and why computer spell check is the spawn of the devil. I kid you not.
The lectures are interesting (I don't think ENGL 1000 even HAS lectures)...
In B Arts / B Ed, you have a major and a minor teaching subject.
If you are doing history / english, then one is your major and one is your minor.
It doesn't matter which is which in first-year - you do one UoS per semester of each, and one UoS of basic education-teaching-overview-stuff.
