Don't bother with the third edition. Yes, dot point is really good. After I study from my notes, I do some work from dot point to ensure that I can apply the knowledge. I rarely check my answers when I do dot point so I don't know about accuracy of answers...
If your school is ranked in the 500s and you want to get into a partially selective school, A's and a few B's would suffice. If you want to get into a fully selective school, you would need all A's plus probably top a few subjects.
