Oh, should have gone to Parramatta if you could, lol.
So much closer! And wouldn't effect your chances at all at entry into Med via the adv sci scheme.. that's what I did.
Also, whereabouts do you live.. I'm surprised your going to Campbelltown if it takes 2 hrs to get there.. Wasn't there a campus closer? E.g. Parramatta or Hawkesbury.
Yeah, even if your ATAR doesn't work out, do the UMAT anyway for experience.
Once you start your first year of uni you'll be able to apply again to undergraduate medical schools using your GPA.
You don't need an ATAR in the high 90's for a realistic chance at Med.
If your GWS, you'll only need an ATAR of 93.55 for a shot at Med, if you hit around 96 then you'll open up doors for Newcastle/JMP as well.
I'd definitely advise you to maximise your chances at getting into Med, by aiming...
True.
Alternatively, pursue further postgraduate study in another field of interest, e.g. Juris Doctor in Law, Masters of Pharmacy, Teaching, Nutrition etc. So instead of actually using the Medical science degree, your simply using it as an undergraduate degree to study in a similar of...

There's a link in one of the posts: gparank.pdf
There you'll find a table that converts gpa to an academic rank.
NRSL = (academic rank + ATAR) / 2
I believe that some universities use NRSL when considering non standards...
I too had all of those "what if's" back when I graduated in 2011, I also had a lot of external pressure from peers and family and other factors that came into play. At the end of the day, believe me when I say that Advanced Science @ UWS is the best degree for Med-hopefuls whether they make it...
My Dux College tutor was only getting payed a rate of $35/hour..
considering there were about 8-10 or so students in each class paying $25/hour each for 2 hours - totalling $400-$500.
I would say that it is preety much "nothing".. $70/$500
can't comment on other companies though.. but I can't...
Yeah everyone's supposed to have 4 units each semester - I think you may have made a mistake.
Check the UWS handbook - it should give you 4 units to do for Autumn.
I'd assume you may be doing the following:
Biodiversity
Essential Chemistry 1
Intro to Anatomy
Scientific Literacy
In terms of complimenting medicine, i think Biological Science may be your best bet - it includes units of chemistry, biology and physiology which may not directly help in your study of medicine but I would assume would make things that touch easier (still yet to commence Med - so I can't be too...
Nah, i know like quite a number of people who got late round offers.
UWS is conservative for main round and leave quite a decent proportion for late.
Btw Riproot, how'd Vinh go? ircc, he smashed UMAT last year.. get into med?
