i am glad someone else thinks this
edit: well looking at the thread, a lot of people thought this. haha. that makes me feel a bit better.
i have the paper with me but i dont really remember my answers and im in no mood to do it again, lol. might post some answers up later.
i think '10 cutoff was also 56/84 (i don't think they vary greatly from year to year)
so it'll probably be around the same, maybe a bit lower considering a lot of people found it harder
Re: Wow, fuck that
the test was so fucking long! and weird...
does anyone else think the style of questions are just so different this year?
like for everything. 4u, english, etc.
i'd be lucky to get ~70 for this one (was getting high 70s on past hscs)
ugh.
HSC :/
also i got...
mod (1+(1/z))<=1
mod (z+1/z)<=1
mod(z+1)<=mod(z)
let z = x+ iy and simplify
x =<-1/2
that should be right according to wolfram :L
(i think i shaded the wrong region lol. can't remember. FFUUUU)
i reckon it will be around the same honestly.
do cutoffs even vary that much from year to year?
i do agree though that it was a pretty long test though so cutoff could be lower (and hell, i wont complain if it is! haha)
idk
i agree with mirakon/whoever else said that the problem was time.
fucking question 3 took like ages, where are all the easy 1 mark graphing questions :/
got like max of 8/15 for q8 (if im lucky)
also i screwed up some easy questions like finding I and shading the wrong region for...
hmm.
idk really.
ive done so much bullshitting in this paper (as with every mx2 paper ive done) that i could get anything between 70-100.
LOLL.
knowing how my predictions usually turn out i probably got 70. :L
^no conics? :p
my bet is on some resisted motion + harder 3u in q6/7. probably inequalities and circle geo.
q8 will be some mindfuck spanning multiple topics.
haha im fucked :L
would be hilarious if some board of studies marker (or whoever) came onto this site, saw these threads, found out who these students were that cheated and failed them.
HAHA.
not going to happen but still...
^lol, now that i think about this actually, 50/50 seems like a bit much. i think 75/25 (25 being the context) is fine (that's what i did). but point being that you need a significant focus on values/themes rather than just solely an essay based on context.
my teacher always emphasises that 'they are not looking for a history lesson'
context has to be linked to the text. so yeah, i dont see a problem with 50/50
no offense taken, lol.
also i've heard many things about hsc marking compared to school marking: one teacher at my school that marked mod b said the state average for hamlet was 8/20 (lolwut). but then other teachers have said marking is a lot more lenient. eh who knows lol
