So I ordered some new Woolies shirts online yesterday. They shipped them today, that's great. Does anyone know on average how long they should take to show up at our store? I only ask because through through various mishaps I managed to get holes or tears in THREE of my shirts in the space of...
They're fairly comfortable, and the dark colour is practical at least.
When I started people in nightfill could wear whatever they want. With the longer trading hours we have now that doesn't work, save for the few people who do start later on.
The plain green/striped/spotted button up shirts along with the green and grey Nightfill polo are the old uniform. The new uniform is the plain dark green polo for everyone in longlife and nightfill.
Very important to note that if you work on Sunday and Monday then you are able to choose which day you receive the public holiday rates for.
Only a few nightfillers on tonight. Lots of volunteers to work for $52/hour though.
Hah. None of my nightfillers are checkout trained. If they were I'd never get our work done each night! They all have to work at 70 cartons an hour as-is to get the job done.
I love teasing the front end manager. :) Telling her that if the Nightfillers worked on the front end there would never...
Grade 2 casual rate is ~$25/hr. Part time is a little under $21/hr.
What position did you get? Everyone knows that Nightfill is the best department to work for in Woolworths. :)
It was even worse than I had feared! Hah. Most people were able to leave at 11PM. The 2IC and I were waiting for the produce load. It turns out at the store the truck driver visited before ours they had no functioning electrical pallet jack. Hence the produce load didn't arrive until much later...
I get to work until 1AM on Christmas Eve. I'm totally thrilled about this. Urgh. Hopefully at least the rest of my staff, other than the 2ic, can get out a bit earlier.
Yes. :) For any public holiday the store isn't open you'll just get paid your normal wages. On public holidays that are trading you can be asked to work and that is up to you. Day off or work for 250%. :) If you're on annual leave for a period of time that includes a public holiday then my...
I don't work on the front end anyway. I get the fun of running the Nightfill. :)
The promotional posters they've put up certainly do show this with the new shirts. It was never a requirement for females with the current green shirts though...

Someone at our store was saying today that with the new uniform all service cashiers will be expected to keep their shirts tucked in, including female staff. This made for humorous eruptions of 'no way!' and 'it only seems fair!'.
It looks like the green Nightfill shirts have remained as-is and have become the only shirt for everyone in longlife, including longlife and inventory managers. Still a good time to order a few more when they are half price and you get a free one with your order, too!
I started off in longlife during the day, then I started doing nightfill and later became a nightfill manager. We have male checkout operators, and female longlife workers and nightfill. Gender stereotypes need not apply.
Nightfill is probably the most physical job one can do at Woolworths...
Some of the our nightfill team wear black zipup hoodies in the cold weather. As long as there aren't any large logos/stripes I wouldn't imagine it would be a problem. Then again, with the anti-social hours I work I don't tend to see that many customers!
We had the area manager and the safety inspector last week. A few heads got busted together! There isn't much point of coming through if they know you're coming, is there? No one has topped up the nearly empty end of Pepsi 24 packs all day, yet it gets done specifically because the area...
