I have a weird view on abortion. I think it's fairly abhorrent (except in the VERY early stages of pregnancy), but I also believe that it's a woman's right to have one if she so chooses
When life beings is a philosophical not scientific question though. Science can tell us when an unborn bay can start feeling, when its heart starts beating, when its brain becomes active etc. but it can't tell you when life begins (and therefore can't tell you when it is and isn't murder)
Over the past 10 years the growth is the same (3.1%) with or without mining. It contributes less than 10% of GDP and only employs about 2% of the labour force.
Average yearly growth in GDP for the past 36 years - all industries - 3.2%
Average yearly growth in GDP for the past 36 years - excluding mining - 3.1%
We'd definitely be fucked without it
Edit: I don't think we should wholesale abolish mining, I just hate this notion that its the be all and...
Everybody may just pass it on at first but soon enough a business will realize they can sell cheaper by innovating, and by selling cheaper than their competitors they will get more customers and more money, T least that's the theory I think
Ummm, yes I am well aware. I'm not the one calling for a progressive pope, I was referring to the people that were.
In fact as a non-catholic I actually don't think I have much grounds to complain about who is or isn't pope.
