Use highlighters and coloured pens to trace around things eg. cyclic quads. It helps you see solutions quicker and makes diagrams less confusing.

me_too_scared, I don't know anything about your related texts, but if you can justify their relation to an imaginative journey, they should work.

How many times to read texts?

I usually read the text once through before we started it in class, and then looked at the relevant parts when we were studying it. And skimmed through it again for important things before trials and the HSC exams. But I think I would have benefited from reading through a couple more times...

    help

Using picture books doesn't necessarily mean that you'll get less marks. But they might be more difficult to discuss in an essay, since you'd have to describe them before you analysed them. I didn't do Coleridge so I don't know what would go well with it, but my English teacher suggested Life of...

dweliing over subjects and the uai

The HSC exam and the trials definately matter a whole lot if you want good results. Your HSC exam mark and assessment mark are averaged to get your HSC mark, so you want as high an assessment mark as you can get to bring the average up. And for that you need to NOT stuff up in the trials.

Study - Combating Boredom and Techniques?

It took me a long time to figure that one out. Eventually I went for 1-2 hour study blocks with a 15 minute break in between. Any longer than that and my brain would seize up. It depended on the subject. English I would write out quotes and memorise them (by writing them on a piece of paper...

how long does it take you to write an essay?

Sometimes you can get away with having a general idea of the text and some REALLY good quotes with excellent analysis, arguments etc; etc; attached. On Giants' Shoulders comes to mind. But it really depends on the text... you probably couldn't get away with it in novels eg. Wuthering Heights or...

Is it risky doing 10 units 4 yr 12?

unit numbers It really depends on what kind of person you are. The time you spend on your backup units might be better spent on the 10 other units that you really want. Some people work better under pressure (ie with more units) Personally, I'm not that type.

Subject Selection for Yr 11 2005.. help??

Subjects for Year 11 Hello, I'm in year 12 at the moment and I have 2 suggestions: 1. Unless your teacher is very good, the Preliminary Physics course is boring as hell. 2. Don't do 14 units in Year 11. That's all I have to say.
