    Industrial Training

Look it up man, it's not hard to find info on this, every engineering degree student in the country has to go through it. Obviously you need decent marks if you want to actually get work at a good company. No company will take a first year, even 2nd year there's not a lot, most people do it in...

UNSW Engineering... do the electives matter?

Pick the recommended ones. For mech this is MATS1101 and MMAN1130, don't know about any other schools/faculties. Both will help in the long run.

    Industrial Training

Do it whenever you want as long as you get it done before the end of the degree. Yes the company you do it with should pay you if you find a good one.

Ipads? An investment or a waste?

It depends on what degree you do. For Eng people it would be a total waste of time, just write the maths on some bloody paper and you're done. If you're in a more designy sort of subject where there's lots of drawing, then an iPad might be an option.

Answers to Accommodation/Colleges questions at UNSW

Creston is just really small, they seem out of the loop a bit with the other colleges. It's not exclusive or anything - just small. As for the interview process while overseas, it may be best to ask them by sending them an email.

    Creative Writing?

If you just want to improve your creative writing skills, why not take a short course outside of uni? If you enjoy writing and stuff then a B.A/B.Law is the way to go. Pretty sure you can only do one major in a combined B.A though, and probably no minors at all.

    UNSW commerce mid year transfer

Look up the atar requirement and then compare it to your atar?

    UNSW commerce mid year transfer

Mid year entry means they'll take your atar and nothing else. 1 semester of tertiary study means nothing. They will only stop looking at the atar after at least a year of tertiary study.

    UN$W

Yeah that's true, I guess I just don't get why summer prices skyrocket in the ASB while they don't in any other faculty.
  14. TheStallion

    UN$W

Even if we are paying a govt. subsidised price during semesters, why won't the government subsidise the ASB fees as well? Also why would they remove the subsidy over summer for the ASB, but keep it for every other faculty? It makes absolutely no sense.
  15. TheStallion

    UN$W

I don't see how the ASB offers a "premium service" compared to any other faculty. Also no other faculties jack up their prices over summer, so why does the ASB?

    UN$W

Well the research that the unis pump out brings in way more money, international reputation, and international staff than anything an undergrad would be doing, so yes, money to fund research, which will ultimately bring in more money. Fees are fine, cheap even, for all us domestic students. The...

If you're a higher year science student (by higher I assume you mean 3rd year onwards) then you should know by now what you need to do to improve.
