What if you are doing a staight commerce degree and have a WAM of around 80. Would they still prefer a comm/law student with say a wam of 75?

That's not true. In the handbook it says LEGT1711 tutorials start in the first week. I am unsure about all the other subjects

Doesn't matter at all. You might like to have tutes near the end of the week because it will give you a bit more time to study for quizzes or to do assignments.

Hey everyone, enjoy your first year. I am doing accounting and finance. Shinji is right, fins1612 is pretty boring. fins1613 is really good, but the lecturer was terrible.

Re: Timetable issues The handbook is very important http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2008/3952.html I went straight to optometry but it says that's only for continuing students so I guess you do optometry/science. I don't know anything about this degree though. Goodluck.

Well I do commerce, but I just take a pen, maybe a highlighter and the lecture notes. Sometimes some spare paper, but I usually just scribble down things onto the lecture notes. I also take a calculator to tutorials if there were calculations in the tute hw. When I get home I then hole...

Yeh I will probably be in the same situation. I am also doing acct and fins. It's no major problem for me if im "nigel" for 1 or 2 hours.
