This isn't accurate anymore as the deregulation bill did not pass Senate. And more recently, the Turnbull government shelved it and even if they do consider it, it won't be implemented till at least 2017.

I think after either one year or one semester of uni (i can't remember), USYD will disregard your ATAR consider your WAM and your uni results only if it makes you more competitive than your ATAR does. But yeah it says on the website you need 97+ to be competitive for a transfer

Re: If you want to study a language at uni but have some proficiency, is there a test If you did French Cont for HSC then the higher bands will qualify you to start at Intermediate level. Otherwise I'm not sure- you should email them.
