well if were correct about this, it is an advantige since u dont have to care about ur assesment marks at all, it all hangs on the HSC exam. if u get a band6 in ur HSC exam and they look at ur ~30% average at school, they assume ur school was fully strict and still award u the band6 that u...

ok i may be wrong but.. if ur the only one person doing 4 unit course you shouldnt even care what marks u get, remember that these school marks are used to show relative differences between students from the same school in same subject..and since ur the only one, what will happen is ur HSC...

prelim results? imagine the heart break if u pass according to prelim results and then fail according to the ones released by email. 50% fail rate sounds way too much, where did u hear this?

yeh, i wanna know this too. it better not be a suprise like that stupid mid session phys1131 exam, it was basically all the questions from lectures and since i study from the book/internet i got screwed.

it doesnt bring u down !!! they take ur best 10 units so u get the best possible mark, if u stuff it up it wont count, unless u stuff up in another subject even more... trust me when it comes time for the hsc everyone is so nervous and its even worse when u know u CANT stuff up in english...

why would people then go for arts (journalism) then? There has to be something that gives the specialised courses an advantige otherwise who would do it. Since arts (journalism) has higher cutoff than Arts there must be something there..same with aero has higher cutoff than mechanical...maybe...

u should work hard anyway, engineering is not an easy degree, its almost hopeless unless ur on top of maths. But really you should work hard and try and get that scholarship for engineering, i think they wanted people who got 95.7UAI in UNSW inorder to get the chance to get a scholarship...

i would say alot of the ext1 people would get it, lol makes me feel bad right now since i did ext and didnt get 90+ :(.
